Story Was this a coincidence or not in your opinion?

7 years ago, I experienced something weird. I was doing Christmas exams in school in a random room usually reserved for the German teacher. On the wall were posters of famous German people and one of them was a guy. I had no idea who his name was.

At the same time I was having some really fucked up sexual thoughts (not in a distressing way but in a "whoa, that's weird"). I constantly thought of eating a womans poop so I randomly typed in wikipedia "poop fetish" and to my surprise...it was that guy on the wall! Nothing to do with a poop fetish but I would later find out that a bot accidentally linked the two articles together so typing in poop fetish would cause a redirect.

I emailed wikipedia (after posting on one site and them calling me a troll) and they did confirm that it wasn't mental illness or a computer error on my part but actually a bot that did this.

Sounds like you experienced what they call a "synchronicity". Carl Jung, a swiss psychiatrist who lived about a hundred or so years ago, coined the term. Synchronicities are always kind of weird when they happen. It's hard to explain to most people because they won't see the connections you're seeing and they'll just think you're crazy.

I'll give you a couple small examples I've had.

I was recently reading stories about people who used the Yew Tree to commit suicide. While I was reading the article, I looked up at my TV and happened to notice they were talking about making hunting bows out of Yew tree wood. Previous to that day, I had never really heard or thought much about Yew trees.

Also, that same day I was driving somewhere and I got stuck behind a car that had a sticker that said "#StopSuicide". I don't think that's as weird as the Yew tree example, but... You live long enough and you'll see instances of "weird coincidences". Only thing I can really say about them is it's a phenomenon other people experience and they call them "synchronicities".

Yea but poop fetish is an incredibly strange to think about..
