So my fathers family have a history of rape and physical abuse, my father's elder brother supposedly died because 'a farm fence fell on him'. I just think with such a violent history, my grandfather hit him too hard and he died and they blamed a farm fence, what do you think?

I suppose that is possible. Is your grandfather still alive?

Well, accidents do happen. If two people of your family died from accidents I'd really question it especially with their known colourful history, but just 1? It's hard to say. Ie, you can't really know, since a statistics of 1 isn't much of a statistic. You'd have to go full CSI on it to have a good insight. Even known murderers are still given trials for future cases because just having a history of murder doesn't mean someone's guilty in future cases

There's not enough information to make an informed opinion on it or anything that would pass through a court system but how does one die from a fence falling on them? Aren't they... You know, pounded deep into the ground? And how fucking huge was it and made out of lead? Maybe I'm thinking of a different kind of fence but your grandfather also had shit imagination to not be able to come up with something better than that. No offense.

Accidents happen. Seems like an odd accident though.

An electric fence doesn't have the amps to kill. A metal, wood, plastic fence can't crush anyone.

You could certainly crash into, fall onto or impale yourself however. There's a farmer nearby who fell off a ladder and impailed himself. Was found the following morning.

A fence falling on someone resulting in death seems rather odd. I'd say there's some missing details for that to make sense.

I don't know, the court imposed a no contact order when I was 8 xx.

So my father's mother said I should report my Dad for abusing me and when my grandfather and dad found out, she ended up with a black eye. But I am suspicious of her, I know for a fact when her son tried smoking, she forced him to smoke a pack to teach him a lesson and my Dad has burns that were explained as 'there was a kettle on the breakfast table and he pulled the table cloth and it scalded him'.

I agree that it is suspicious. I can't think of how a fence of any material could fall on someone and kill them instantly. I could see someone falling on a fence and dying like I mentioned. Or maybe a person gets knocked over and hits their head on a rock or something. It would have to be some really

Though let's say hypothetically that this was a murder. How could anyone get away with it by claiming a fence simply fell and killed the person. That fence would have to be tall and quite heavy. If you don't buy that story, do you think the authorities would?

Did the police investigate? What did they say? How well was the fence maintained? What was he doing near the fence? Why did the fence fail? Were there any witnesses or, anyone actually with him? Were his injuries consistent with how they claim he died? Was the fence damaged in the corresponding area or, did it have DNA there? How did they rule it? A suspicious death, death by misadventure? Sorry to be blunt but, did he die straight away? Who were called first- ambulance or police?

It's impossible to speculate on such a short description. Even with all the facts, it might be difficult. Presumably, the authorities did investigate? I can understand why you worry it might be suspicious though. I suppose, lots of things are possible but, all our actions leave traces. The hope is the police did a thorough enough investigation at the time and that all the evidence they discovered was consistent with that cause of death.

I'm sorry for your loss though. It's a shock- whatever happened.
