I forgot the kids name but a high profile news story came across my feed where the AI chatbot told a teenager exactly how to do partial ctb and I'm feeling a lot of guilt because I posed my whole mental breakdown and attempts with partial and why it failed and I'm really worried that AI could be fed my posts and I like this forum because you REALLY have to dig to find it but I don't like that information being super accessible.

Pretty much anything is possible unfortunately~ But tbh, that's more of ChatGPT's fault for taking content from everyone and everywhere than yours~ As far as I can tell, this site's bots tend to just be web crawlers tho~ While some of them do have AI's too, I don't see ChatGPT listed among them, so you're safe in that regard~ :)
Also, that person likely would've found resources for doing so elsewhere or potentially gotten hurt by doing a less safe method~
Also, I'm glad you've managed to recover, and I hope things are well for you! ^_^

the easy access to such info coming from chatgpt is 100% the fault of the weakest filter/moderation ever and how unregulated it is. no other chatbot i've used has had such an easily manipulated content filter than cgpt, it's one of the worst things to be introduced to the public. not to mention how much of its bs is made up.

forums like these can't be forced to be censored or less accessible just because people are irresponsible with their inventions and don't care about the general, vulnerable public. if we were to take care of the content we post online for the sake of others seeing it, this site wouldn't even exist at all due to too much detail being shared in the suicide threads, etc.

I tend to think the chances of it coming from you specifically to be small. Imagine how many millions of references there are on the internet. Even high profile celebrity suicides using partial- like Robin Williams. I imagine there's more talk about that suicide than a few posts here.

I do absolutely agree with you though. I don't think minors should have easy access to this information. But again, like others have said- that lies in the fault of the creators of these things and parents. There ought to be limitations as to what they source and/ or, what they reveal to certain demographics.

I don't even know actually- can parents put parental controls on things like AI chatbots? Regardless though, it's irresponsible of any parent to not educate themselves on how best to protect their children online. It's concerning that so many seem clueless their children are that unhappy to begin with but then, mine were too. And comparatively, mine weren't bad.
