I've read The Peaceful Pill Handbook and most of Final Exit. I've searched high and low online.

I'm convinced that the only method I feel truly comfortable with is the exit bag and drugs method. What's holding me back is I have no idea how to become unconscious.

I've been looking into ways to make myself unconscious, so I can have the bag on without the overwhelming urge to take it off whilst conscious. I've had the bag on my head many times and find it to be not at all distressing, but I need to become unconscious to see it through.

I've heard of tapping the neck in a specific place and squatting, hyperventilating, and then standing and blowing on the thumb. The problem is that these methods only render one unconscious for short periods of time. I don't have the means to access barbiturates or any drugs that I know of that would render me unconscious for any useful length of time. In my ignorance I tried taking regular sleeping pills and lorazepam, which succeeded in little else than giving me a dizzy head the next day.

Does anyone have any insights or suggestions on this?

I can hardly believe that you've read the PPH and Final Exit.

There's no legitimate, reliable method called the exit bag and drugs method, to quote from your post. The exit bag is used in conjunction with inert gases. If used correctly in that way, one becomes unconscious and dies without any urge to tear-off the bag.

You seem to be talking about wanting to take a bunch of drugs and then pulling a plastic bag over your head???????????
Am I wrong about this?

Don't try that, it won't work.

if you're talking about survival instinct, then a couple of tramadol or lyrica pills will do the trick.

The method in question was to use strong prescription sleeping pills, barbiturates, and an antiemetic, to induce an unconscious state. The method works by having the exit bag over your head and elasticising the neck area, holding the elastic open so you get oxygen, then allowing your finger to fall as you go unconscious. Being unconscious you're not awake to give in to the panic of the lack of oxygen and die from lack of oxygen to the brain and body. The problem was I didn't have strong enough drugs to render me unconscious. Hope that explains it.

If I had someone who didn't fear potential consequences or the moral implications I suppose I could just get choked out until death. Unfortunately assisted suicide isn't really an option. I'm looking more at taking action alone.

My friend, this is simply incorrect.

Unless you're in a medically induced coma--brought on by drugs you cannot obtain--the incredibly powerful built-in human hypercapnic response will cause you to tear and claw that bag open or off. Dead drunk, asleep or unconscious, you will fight to remove that bag.

In the course of doing so, you have a better chance of damaging your brain and/or your lungs than you do of dying.

There are some good and knowledgeable folks here close to your age. Talk with some of them, take your time, see if you're really serious about this whole subject. If so, they'll help you find a more reasonable path.
