If you go to the website for more details, it confirms there's going to be a Nintendo Direct on April 2nd. There's also going to be a fan experience event in April for New York, Dallas, and Los Angeles (sorry other countries I didn't check the other countries but I'm sure they're gonna do some in other parts of the world too). Hopefully the console itself launches in the summer maybe June or July? I guess maybe November at the latest would make the most sense for this to release.

Feel free to discuss here what potential exciting new games or even remakes could come out. So far the best thing this video confirms is that both physical and digital Switch games will be backwards compatible which is good. Hopefully old Switch games get a graphics upgrade too somehow from being played on the new console.

Super happy for those that this has the potential to bless with joy and hope.

If I could get back to that chill, carefree, in-the-zone trance state that video games used to provide in my youth, then I could just drown the remaining years of my natural lifespan in gaming.

Has anyone managed to reverse anhedonia for gaming specifically? I dream of spending hours of every day zoned out with bag of doritos and surrounded by empty energy drink cans and thinking of no worry in the world other than my stats in whatever game I'm tuned in to at that moment. As for anyone approaching me to advocate for a more active or productive life, I'd smile at them between bites of my microwaved meals, and simply say "suck it." So ironic to reach this conclusion of how superior life is as a lazy stoner gamer after years of forcing myself far away from gamer lifestyle thinking it would do wonders for my mental, physical, and social health. I was just born at the wrong time maybe.

Gamers DO NOT let anyone shame or bully you out of your love. Just BEING ABLE TO ENJOY a video game is gold, keep it going as long as you can!

Hardware wise is this going to be a significant upgrade to be able to run things better? While I don't own a switch (emulation ftw) these don't seem like significant enough improvements to warrant spending hundreds of dollars unless there's a big hardware upgrade. The current switch for example can barely run Mario Party Jamboree and my friends have repeatedly said that it runs way better on an emulator when I've hosted games. If we're not getting significant performance increases, then what are we getting? Slightly bigger joycons? Is the drift hopefully being fixed? There are very few details shown, just a cool trailer so far.

It is just a slightly improved version of a previous device. Unfortunately, the advertisement was very boring and primitive. The colors of the arms were changed to a gloomy black color.I expected something much better.

I like how it's mostly black now, but there aren't enough changes to get me to switch (no pun intended) from my PS Vita just yet

Personally I don't care much for it as I have less interest in consoles at this point as more and more games are coming to PC and games are becoming less and less exciting for me so I mainly rely on indie games to play now. I also don't care much about Nintendo games and characters and it being portable as I don't need to go outside for long periods of time.

Not to mention that you can emulate Switch, and other console games on PC and they run better on PC than on the switch and it's very simple to setup. The only downside is multiplayer, but you can do local multiplayer with your friends with Parsec or the built-in multiplayer options on most emulators.
