Which ones do you play? Do they make you feel better or worse? Do you think they're an accurate opinion of what suicide and suicidal ideation is like?

I'm in the middle of Omori and It's been a really slow burn so far. I'm not close to the end at this point but I look at the character's experience with intense anxiety and think "yup, that's why I want to die". It's been portrayed realistically enough that I can only play the game in small doses, and most games about mental health don't phase me that much.

If you like the idea of weaponizing suicide, Hero from Dragon Quest has a move in Smash Bros Ultimate that instantly kills himself but also triggers a huge explosion that's unblockable, kills early, and can't be interrupted.

I really loved Omori! Somehow this 8bit videogame made me cry several times, specially because of the photo book and the memories, I could identify a lot with that suffering, of pretty things in the past that no longer exist. I thought about old photos of my few magical moments with people that are no longer there. And how those moments start to get do distorted in your mind and the suffering turn then into nightmares. Something horrible happened and broke all, you can't scape from it, you're cursed, I felt that so deeply.

I managed to get the "good" end tho. (But there's no real "good" ending since you can't go back in time in this game heh)

I also loved OneShot, it's not about suicide but in the end you need to make a very hard choice and it's a super cute game! I love the cutscenes when Niko goes to sleep and dreams about the field it lives in its worlds and it's mom, it's super sweet! Also kinda sad.

I tried to play DokiDoki literature club but I'm not so much into graphic novels, also Monika was annoying me uwu

There are a few that do focus on the subject of mental health and death.

Spiritfarer is a relaxed game where you run a boat that spirits travel on when they die. It's about accepting death as an inevitability and coping with it while it happens to someone. "Spiritfarer® is a cozy management game about dying. You play Stella, ferrymaster to the deceased, a Spiritfarer. Build a boat to explore the world, then befriend and care for spirits before finally releasing them into the afterlife." You get to know the people that have died before they eventually move on, it's sad and sweet at the same time.

Celeste is a great 2D platformer about a girl who needs to climb over a mountain, but the mountain itself is an embodiment of her own self-doubt and depression, and obstacles get in your way as you climb, like a dark version of yourself that's trying to put you down and stop you succeeding.

Life is Strange is a decent narrative series where your decisions change the outcomes for yourself and the other characters over the course of the whole game, but it deals with suicide, bullying, depression, trans stuff, family conflicts etc.

I tried to empathize with lfie is strange but it was so bad written and chloe is a pain in the ass I just couldn't take it. Celeste was beautiful to play and I don't remember more games. I saw the topic in a lot of visual novels but I only can't think in Subahibi right now. I really enjoyed it.

For me the most accurated was Celeste. I guess LiS was accurated too but more for the part of someone that wants to help a friend and they can't because of their toxic enviroment.

My Koffing knew my favorite move Self-Destruct. Won me plenty of gym leader battles even when underleveled.

That aside, I like some indie games that touch upon the topic. I find theim more genuine. Here's one:

I wasn't able to finish Cyber punk because of all the endings, i wanted to pick the most 'boring' which made the character put a bullet through their brain right then and there. I didn't want to pick any of the other endings because it involved risking and hurting others. My brain is fucked that i can't even enjoy the ending of a game because of how it would affect others.

Not technically suicide, but in Dragon Age: Origins, my Warden chose to fight the Archdemon alone, which she knew would kill her in the process. Ultimate self sacrifice.
I saw the suicide ending for Cyberpunk 2077 online and I thought it was pretty good.
In The Evil Within, Joseph has a few good lines about feeling suicidal. Paraphrasing, 'you know that feeling you get when you're standing at the edge of a tall place, how you have the urge to jump? Imagine having that urge for a whole minute, then two minutes.'
