Very tragic story

There was a young British couple enjoying a new life together living in Australia, sadly he was struck by a pizza delivery driver and killed, the next day his girlfriend left the hospital and committed suicide to be with him.

What confuses me and I will admit to being a bit jealous, this girl had no suicidal feelings and they were enjoying a great life together in Australia before tragedy struck.

There seems to be very little planning, yet still managed to buy over the counter drugs to OD and CTB.

I couldn't find any information on the drugs used I did read somewhere she did buy OTC drugs to CTB, I have been planning to CTB for over a year now.

My preferred method to CTB is SN but it would be interesting to find out what OTC drugs are available and that effective.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks Geo

How do you know?

Good point but their families said they were very happy moving to Australia and both had good jobs they enjoyed and was looking forward to getting married

Yeah but that's the average story people tell after almost every suicide. "I don't understand, he had a good job, a family, blablabka aka I am shallow and have no imagination"

Yes I know the family would say that, but he was having drinks at a Rugby club he was playing for and got knocked down and killed on his way home and the girlfriend was heart broken, she told the hospital staff she needed some air and drove to a pharmacist and bought OTC drugs and was found in her car dead so it doesn't seem like it was a planned suicide.

But just wondered what drugs could she have got OTC in Australia..

Just a guess, would she perhaps have had some non-otc drugs on hand? Perhaps the Rugby Club was a source, but didn't make the news story? In my experience the media gets things wrong. $ometime$ omitting trouble$ome detail$;)

Could have, but the story just said OTC drugs nothing about any prior medical condition they may have had so I was just curious especially buying them OTC in Australia.

Definetly yes. There are guidelines for the media I listened to a podcast series about suicide prevention not long ago, it was about 8 hours long. It's crazy how detailed these guidelines are.

Yes it's weird. I don't know of any otc meds that will kill you easily.

Yes I know this really intrigued me it doesn't come across, she planned a ctb before her partner was killed.

I would think she had the plans already; but maybe this is because I am not at all impulsive myself? Or not that reckless kind of impulsiveness that some people have where they go out on a whim, buy a gun and shoot themselves the same day it occured to them for the first time. There are people like that definitely

In theory, there's a lot of OTC stuff that can knock you off if you take enough of it. We always love to say here that "nothing OTC will kill you" and I'm guilty of that myself... but that's not entirely true. You can die from a Diphenhydramine overdose... most people don't because you have to take a metric fuckton... but there's always the chance that your body will react differently than another person's body. Your heart can stop, you can choke on your vomit when you're passed out.

Reading about this, I honestly don't think she had premeditation or anything. She had a traumatic event, she lost her survival instinct and then got "lucky" by picking something that worked for her.

Yes I agree but it's incredible we plan for years for our perfect ctb and then you hear of stories like this it's amazing ctb the next day anyway I hope they are both together in peace.
