according to google:
"Simply put, the Law of Attraction is the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on. ... It is the Law of Attraction which uses the power of the mind to translate whatever is in our thoughts and materialize them into reality. In basic terms, all thoughts turn into things eventually. "

or simply put: bullshit and fairy tales.

Law of attraction is just a method to sell desperate people meaningless books that have no practical application beyond dangerous self delusion that is making an author rich. It is bullshit of the highest order that should be used only as toilet paper as it implies utterly sick things. This though even devalues the existence of toilet paper. Who obviously has failed in attracting you to use it as intended thus spiraling into a nihilistic crisis of lack of purpose.

Were you molested by your uncle? Are you miserable because of it? Good, you deserve that apparently under this belief system. Bad things only happen to bad people. So this is your fault, you attract what you deserve. Because you don't want to not be molested by your uncle enough... If you are still being molested this is probably what the universe wants because it does not always provide what you feel you want but what you may need for reasons... I am sure it is the same for children who become meat paste from collateral damage in foreign wars. Nice to know the universe provides...

It gets more hilarious still with its attempts to pull science on its side. I will just say it fails. Because it is metaphysical pseudoscience latching onto genuine science to give itself an air of realistic authority. Common tactic of garbage such as this.

Here is a true law of attraction for you. The only real one worth putting any effort into that does align with known physics. Say you want more money. What you do is do practical things in life to get it beyond just thinking about it. Be it applying for better paying jobs or pursuing the education that will get you to a better paying job. But here is the true secret, the universe does not always provide and is not interested in bending to your will like it is magic. Otherwise we all would be billionaires with our own private islands and Butler named Jeeves. Cancer would no longer exist and politicians heads would explode when they lie.

Also as a practical experiment this entire time I have been wanting to attract to myself complete restoration from ill health. Sadly my vomit still looks very much like vomit that I would rather not be there. But maybe there is some soul growth to be had from cleaning out my sick bucket?

Without looking into that again to be absolutely correct, from what I remember is that this term comes from the channeled spirit collective
which calls themselves Abraham. How this mechanic is labeled by them makes it seem like you receive it from outside of you.
But my alien friend called B... is telling us, that this is part of their 5 laws of creation: What you put out is what you get back.
Everything is here and now. When you act as your true self, follow your joy and raise your vibration/be happy and stuff,
you will make visible to you what is already there. You will be on a frequency where you can perceive that which you need to go your path in life.
When you put out negativity, fear, doubt in your experiential outside, the universe will reflect your inner state and you "attract" things, circumstances,
encounters which you do might not prefer.
Yet from these you can learn, and when you stay in a positive state no matter what it looks like, using negativity for a positive outcome knowing that
it is there for me to grow and to know what I do prefer by living through something I do not prefer, then the outer reflection knows you changed and can
reflect the change.

When I discovered this stuff and was quite fascinated, wanted radios and stuff, after a while at house doors there were radios in a fashion I wanted them
(flat, rectangular) and also cassette recorder to take with so I could do some itc stuff.
Aaaaand, I wanted to test some psychokinesis, already bought metal spoons, but yet, suddenly in a box where people can put stuff they no longer need,
there was a whole bunch of metal spoons, forks and knives perfect for my doings.
And one of the spoons had MY FREAKING Name on it!! I never saw a spoon with a name on, and this one had mine...
It really is an illusion, very complex and quite holy and often a not very pleasant one, but this reality is a game to learn.
Magic is the normal state.
Magical is that most people are not aware of the magic to have a certain experience to grow from.

I started doing some affirmations into my phone again with my voice. Repeat the thought u want to have like 4 times for each recording. It's an effort to change what I'm thinking about throughout the day. I listened twice today, like for a while to a bunch of different ones I came up with. It has reduced my suicidal ideation within just a few days.

It does work because whatever u focus on grows stronger. So yea I believe in law of attraction. What I'm doing is reducing the power of the negative thoughts that normally are there and interrupting with new thoughts that help me focus on ways to help myself. I don't like listening to my own voice but it still works even if u don't like how u sound.

Its interesting how my first ones I made sound so terribly depressed but then the more new ones I make my voice gets slightly more upbeat. I think up new ones as I notice the specific areas where I'm unable to make progress in.

The idea is that you search for people, places, events, things that correspond to your mindset and what you're looking for.

Thus, it seems that you're attracting these things when, in fact, you've altered your behavior to put you into contact with your mindset.

It's why I'm here.

I definitely believe repetition works. Repetition works to help you accoplish a goal or to think differently. I think if you record a goal or thought you want at least 4 times and hear the recording several times each day it does work if anything because it refocuses your intention. I'm going try this. Just working out the details and would like to see complete examples of it on the internet.

Today I slacked on it but I forced myself to do it anyway at least once for like as long as I could. I relistened with headphones while cooking some food like over and over for like 15 to 20 mins. Like an example of an affirmation would be "iam learning to think more helpful thoughts" it's that simple. "Iam learning to be more giving and thoughtful towards myself and others" it might seem dumb but u notice that u become nicer to other people as u begin to believe the new thoughts over some days and weeks of daily doing this.

"Iam feeling happy, energetic, motivated and I can achieve my goals today" these can improve your attitude but of course u will still get suicidal ideation but this has lessened it somewhat over just a few days of doing this. Or I'm able to catch more often if I'm slipping into a negative mindset. When I begin to get depressed then I pull out my phone and then listen to the new positive thoughts and it does help reduce the negative thoughts. "Iam learning to be relaxed, calm, and confident" you can think up ones specific to the areas u struggle with.

When u come up with these u have to word it as positive because the brain won't do what u don't want it to do. So it can't be worded like "iam learning to not eat so much" that one wouldn't be a good one because u are saying a negative or what u don't want yourself to do.

Reviving this thread a bit. 2019 for me is the year I started reading up about Law of Attraction (LOA) and other related spiritual topics to do with manifestation. I did the subconscious programming techniques (albeit intermittently) for a few months and I find myself actually believing the positive affirmations after a while, despite my conscious mind arguing against it. It's almost as if I feel it in my hear they are true... so I guess that works. It doesn't stop me from seeking out an exit plan though cause I don't necessarily think death is all that bad. In fact, the more I got into the the idea that we are more than just what we think we are here on earth, the more death becomes something to look forward to. Having said that, I am also totally okay with there being nothing after death!

Could you give us details of your subconscious programming techniques.
I read a lot of about subconscious mind programming and i know it works.
Some of the books on the top of my head are :
The power of your subconscious mind:
Amazon product ASIN 1614270198
and a 100 year old book The secret of the Ages by Robert Collier.

I haven't really read, more like watched stuff on YouTube. I follow people like Aaron Doughty on Youtube, though I don't necessarily believe everything he says. I do meditation in the morning and evening, and use guided meditation from channels of Michael Sealey and Jason Stephenson to name a few. I fall asleep to subconscious affirmation videos from the likes of the Powerthoughts Meditation Club channel for example. If you search for "subconscious programming" on YouTube you will find loads of materials to listen to with different themes. I just fall asleep to it and let it run for a few hours. If anything it is also definitely effective at putting me to sleep. There are also some good hypnosis videos too.

Thanks for these books, I actually haven't delved into reading materials on this but I shall check them out.

If the law of attraction actually worked serial killers would end up dead before getting around to killing victim number 2. And innocent children would not suffer from abuse at the hands of twisted grown-ups.

No, there is no such thing as the "law" of attraction. It's all a roll of dice.

I used to believe this, and it gave me nothing but disappointment in the end. I quit spirituality a long time ago when it was no longer useful to me.

I think "it" (inner state and thoughts affect outcome to some degree) works in some things. Person who believes he is good and capable of any work has confidence which will help him get the work he wants. People who have confidence and love for themselves and others behave in a way which makes others like them. Biggest part of communication is said to be body language.
Also if person believes for example that he/she is beautyfull then they are that for sure.

Many lawyers say that confident (also rich and powerful looking) people win more easily. Also they say that abuse victims aren't often believed and are labeled as insane because they have PTSD and they can't talk about the subject without anxiety, fear and pain. The more they fear that their abuser will get away with it and haunt and hurt them the more anxious they will be and more likely to loose. If they train themselves (or have been trained by continuous abuse) to feel nothing so that they won't brake to million pieces in guestioning and in court they can be seen without reality (psychosis or other illness) or lier because they show no feelings. But many can't show and feel their emotions only little as needed in that when they emotions are like uncontrollable storm in their head. If they release the plug the whole dam will brake down.

People link what they see as negative traits with other negative traits and positive to positive traits. Poor, fearfull, anxious and nervous victim is seen as less trustworthy human as rich, powerful and confident person.

But knowing that doesn't mean that everyone can change their thoughts. As long as people feel pain (emotional and physical pain are felt in same part of brain) they will have negative emotions. Every person and animal have that same response to pain.

I believe that taking fear from persons life have many positive outcomes (to their mental and physical health and to how others treat them). Having a way to win for sure any evil things and suffering this world throws at them has made people live longer and more happily since they no longer have fear.

Seeing vision boards trending lately. I think the only way it works is if you paste the (realistic) goals on a board where you see them often to remind yourself what you're working towards.

But if you're just staring at the board all day doing nothing for yourself, it will just be a pretty board with dreams that you'll get to working on when you're ready.
