Using Digital Scale's Tare Function

As far as I'm aware, the 'tare' function resets the scales reading to zero. When you weigh a substance, you don't want to include the weight of the container- so normally, you would sit the container on the scale, press 'tare' to set it to zero, then pour in the substance to be weighed. Hope that makes sense.

Yes, that's correct. You definitely don't want to include the net weight. I figured it out. And you are correct. The directions that came with the scale were incorrect. Thanks!!
