• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I can't believe they would ban getting an X on your identification, as if it fucking bothers or concerns anyone.

I've noticed a trend these days with attacks on bodily autonomy from the government.

For all we know they are coming after Diy HRT soon too.

Now I have no hope of ever getting my identity validated by the government. I'm always going to get weird looks I'm always going to get comments, I'm always going to be misgendered. I just feel so dysphoric all the time and this isn't making it any better. The only saving grace is that I'll be able to catch the bus soon enough. :(

they can't take that away from us. they'd need to scan every package in the country (ridiculously expensive and people will not stand for it) and even then that won't stop it from being exchanged outside of the postal system.

i'm non-binary in england, we've never had that marker. i had hope of seeing one soon because you guys had it as an option so it sucks to see that happen, not to mention the other shit. denying your identity federally isn't totally preventing you from living as that in person regardless of what they do. i'm sorry about all that's happening but it isn't over yet

While this is true they can crack down on sellers which would suck massively.

Nice to meet another enbyfren, and with a Madotsuki pfp no less! I love Yume Nikki alot. Unfortunately the current system is failing pretty hard and to keep it up it seems the wealthy in our society are pointing fingers at us. We just make easy sacrificial lambs I guess.

It's not but it is adding onto the intense suffering that makes it more and more impossible for me to ever get better one day. It doesn't help that things are only going to get worse for us it doesn't help that nobody will ever accept me. Having something solid like this would've been incredibly hope inspiring and validating. I'm just so upset.

It could be worse: if you were a Russian citizen.

I don't know what those Russians are complaining about. It's not like they're Syrian villagers getting blown up in drone strikes. But really, Syria looks like heaven compared to being a cobalt miner in DRC. Although I would rather mine cobalt than be an Uyghur in China right now. Of course, if recency isn't a factor, I'm sure the Jewish diaspora or Cambodians would have something to say...

You can just keep going lower and lower when this is your mindset. Why does anyone complain about anything when we should all be searching for the most miserable society on earth, and no problem ever deserves attention until we've determined it's the absolute worst in existence? People don't need to be at rock bottom to have valid grievances with the way their society works. Everyone has a legitimate reason to want a better life.

We really live in a horrible world. It's one thing that they are refusing to help non binary and trans people, but they are even actively being hostile to them for no reason. Like certain satirical website said, far-right voters hate other people more than they love themselves.

I would be lying if I said I fully understand your situation, since I don't mind too much if I need to hide my NB gender, but I sympathize. It's obvious that you are both kind and intelligent (and you have great taste too, if you like Yume Nikki) (I say the same to radiohead, of course)

Yeah, you must have missed something in the discussion. I was talking about how trans people, non binary, ... LGBTQ+ in general are treated in Russia compared to the US, where not having an X on an ID apparently is a big deal. I know it's not a competition, but I just wanted to add some perspective. Not sure what bombings in Syria have to do with that....

I am also NB and these politicians somehow refuse to understand that trying to ban DIY HRT won't make trans people go away. Banning SN won't make suicidal people go away etc. All it does is push those "undesirables" deeper underground. If they can't get HRT in person, they will buy it online. If they can't buy it online, they'll use Tor and so on. It solves nothing.

Non binary dysphoria is probably the worst thing ever to me, I feel like an incomplete puzzle I just want anyone or anything to help me feel more complete.

I am also NB
I didn't know there were so many of us on here, alot of the trans discussion on this forum reminds me of /lgbt/ pre 2020 before it was flooded with attention seeking low effort spam posts ( and I love it you guys have been a huge help ). Yeah we are losing the political front on bodily autonomy pretty badly, who would've known that in 2025 the year of our lord and savior fucking paternalism of all things would make a comeback. Just another brick in the wall.

We know life in Russia is shitty, especially for LGBTQ+ people. Everyone does. That's why it hurts when we see that same persecution in societies that are supposed to know better. We shouldn't have to wait for life elsewhere to get as bad as life in Russia, or Syria, or DRC, or China, or Nazi Germany, or Democratic Kampuchea before caring about and speaking out against injustice stops requiring perspective. Maybe I jumped the gun and misread your intent, and my initial response was out of line, but you have to understand that just saying "it could be worse," with no additional context, isn't helpful or productive.

I didn't respond because I don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable sharing their feelings but here is my input on their original comment. We unfortunately have no control over how our brains develop trauma or the conditions that lead to being less capable to respond to trauma effectively. If someone is hurt to the point of this pain effecting them then they are. I think the original comment is kind of reductive to this idea but probably no fault of their own. Trans people everywhere have it bad right now and some of us are stronger and able to endure it better than others and some aren't. I hope all the trans people worldwide can find peace soon, whatever that peace for them may be.

To be clear Syrias biggest issue wasn't drone strikes it was their government. Look at places like Sednaya which were a bigger collection of basically concentration camps helped created by Alois Brunner. When liberated they had to walk through inches of blood, feces, and piss in the torture rooms. So Syria yeah it may have been just as a bad as the Uyghurs.

Your contributions and the contributions of this forum collectively are at least helping some people find an end to their suffering so it isn't all bad, soon I will be resting peacefully thanks to you all.

Sure maybe it would be better if everyone could be happy all the time magically but it just isn't realistic.

it's not narrow minded to realize that we aren't built to handle everything in the world, and that what we can change is what we should try to, without eviscerating our already torn mental and physical health as queer people. escaping people who say unhelpful things like "it could be worse" is the whole reason this site exists

This is what happens when the bully that does a sneak attack and runs away, finally gets in power.
Add to that some fixation with God and a perception on what would please said God.
Most religious books say to be nice to everyone, don't do anything bad and try to get along.
Bullies need someone to blame, someone inferior in their rhetoric. Just about anyone that is not THEM is fair game.
Maybe these angelic assholes need someone to tell them to shove it.

The next presidential election is in 1371 days.

I used to be so big into political advocacy before my life took a big downturn and made it impossible, I even lost my only source of revenue ( my job ) from union organizing. I threw everything I had at making the world a better place and it only fell apart more. There are much more stronger people out there that can continue and they have my full faith and support. There are so many heroes out there in the world but sadly there are more who are inactive and lazy.

I already have citizenship technically because of my parents I just don't have any money to move over there. I'll be dead before anything really bad starts to happen that will necessitate that kind of thing.
