No, but when I was younger (this was like age 13?) I told childline that I wanted to kill myself and they didn't do anything so if you're an adult I doubt they'd do anything.

Particularly in a pandemic, police aren't gonna come to your house
Why would the police visit??
Some people worry the police will visit and try to prevent them from suicide and possibly section them

Not from the UK nor had any experience with Samaritans myself, but I know there are opinions both ways on the forum about whether or not they alert authorities if you are an imminent suicide risk. A search should help you find these threads.

Childline will call the police but samaritans rarely do, as youre an adult capable of making your own choices they cant do much to intervene, even less likely in times like these were police are for the most urgent due to corona.

I phoned them a few months ago but I dialed 141 before the number I didn't tell them that I was going to kill myself, I would never tell anyone that.

Childline didn't call the police on me, I was 13, they probably should have tbh

No, I told them I was going to die and nothing happened. Spoke about my method etc. Actually they are quite good

No the Samaritans don't give a shit, was in hospital last year, told them when I leave if I could find a tall bridge, ill be right off it, they shrugged told me to find the light then left me!
they do a *job* that involves talking to people during a time of crisis, but that's it! anything further is rarely of any interest to them

Happened a few times between age 15-17, cant remember too much what happened as i wasn't in a good mental state but if they're worried they will give you the option to tell them your name and address so they can call someone or if they think your risk is big but you arent cooperating if needs be they can track you and send police.

Alot of Samaritans are like other members of society... It's all down to chance, you might get a really empathetic compassionate person who will go to alot of effort to get you help or you might get one who's nasty. Or someone who thinks it's their good deed keeping them out of hell. I know a Samaritan who is lovely but I remember ringing them when I was a teenager extremely distressed over something unrelated to suicide and they laughed and put the phone down on me. That was years ago though, I doubt any cruel bugger would risk that now with all the technology 'call recording' etc.

No never had this.
My experience has been so varied similar to poster above. Some have been cold, callous and outright rude - some I have had life changing conversations with that will stick in my mind forever - some bent the rules and told me about them.
It does seem they've put a limit on the maximum amount of time you can spend talking to them now. They do anything to hurry you off the phone so I don't bother anymore
