• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

UK Assisted Dying Bill, deferral potentially 4 Years implementation to 2029 . Therefore, a potential maximum 4 Year backstop is possible following proposed parliamentary amendment to allow for systems and procedures, etc. The bill has yet to pass 3rd reading and vote on the path to legislation so it could fail too, and then further scrutiny by the lords will take place, even if it gets that far. Of course this is disappointing to me personally as Im dealing with chronic illness along with many others who now face potential delays and ongoing pain and suffering. We also face a General Election in 2029 at the latest so you can see the potential deralaying of the whole Bill, especially in light of this labour government who are not certain to win in 2029. Im utterly depressed now with this dibarcle not just for me but for the suffering everywhere. So the Bill remains unlawful until potentially at least 2029, and / or it could fail or simply fizzle out.

Yeah that sucks. But I am still optimistic about the future of assisted death in general. It used to be incredibly taboo and the fact that a substantial number of MPs in the UK are willing to vote for it is a cause for optimism. I'm in Canada and our Supreme Court legalized assisted suicide for the already dying. And there are plans to make it legal for people with incurable mental health conditions that bring immense suffering (hopefully that includes depression). While I probably won't be around to benefit, I am optimistic that societies view of death is changing, though much slower than I want.

I just see so much cruelty in how it's not already legalised with suffering seen as to force and prolong no matter what instead, it truly is such a horrific world where guaranteed painless ways to cease existing are denied even know there is literally no limit as to how much agony one can feel in this existence where one is just waiting for death anyway as all I hope for is to never suffer ever again, I wish for no more pain, no more suffering, I never would had chosen any of this in the first place.

I live in hope. Unfortunately, disease processes dont offer a 4 Yesr back stop, so I believe. Humankind shouod talk openly about death. To me, life and death are inseparable.

If you take a look at what that actually means, that means they want to forcefully keep people, who are already about to die, alive as long as possible. If you've ever seen a scene in a zombie film where someone agrees to kill someone to put them out of their misery, this amendment is saying that they must be kept alive against their will and that killing them is the same as murdering someone in cold blood. Obviously, that's asinine. What "systems and procedures" could take four years to allow people to die. It's obviously just another pro life tactic to force others to suffer. It's definitely another disappointing thing about this government among others that they won't even keep their promises, I guess they have no incentive to so what's the point. People just keep voting the worst people to run the government anyway, always have, always will.

I've never placed much trust with any government. Things often workout or fail based on chance and not by design. I said previously, which chronic illnesses have a built in 4 Year backstop?. I hear the Labour government is kinda neutral on the Bill so that doesnt place much confidence in the plan in my opinion. My illness doesn't come with a 4 Year backstop guarantee. If anything, I could drop dead tomorrow as I learnt this Week that ive developed a heart arrythmeia in addition to everything else I have. If Ive learned anything so far, and that is not to place much faith in anyone. Thank 'god' ive got ' plan B'.
