Last night I took a couple of 12mg OTC melatonin sleeping pills about 10.

I was really expecting to die for some reason even though from my research you need way more pills than just 10 and that it's very difficult to actually die from an OTC medication overdose.

Not to mention tolerance, weight, and height probably play a huge factor into it.

I was really desperate last night after an argument with a family member that just broke me. Unfortunately here I am just slightly sick and sleepy from the whole thing.

I want to try again 50-60 pills this time but I'm not so sure. I heard it's painful and that you basically are just waiting for your organs to shutdown one by one. And if you survive obviously you'll be impaired from it.

Any thoughts?

Short answer - don't
Long answer - OTC meds are OTC for a reason. You'll upset your stomach, damage your liver or kidneys, get nasty headache or other unpleasant symptoms but chances of actually dying from OTC meds are very low.

I wouldn't, was my first thought. It's still my main one.

The first time I tried I am sure I would have died from vomit if I only taped my mouth that attempt. What happens after I fall unconscious doesn't matter to me, as long as I die.

But as above, OD doesn't work. I wish it was so easy.

yeah i figured. what a sad thing its the only "non-method" i have right now. i dont have any rope or any guns so ill just have to wait miserably until i put some time into these things and do it properly. looking back it was a pretty pathetic attempt. im lucky i didnt get anybody involved.

From WebMD:
Too much melatonin can lead to unwanted side effects. But it's very rare that an overdose of the supplement could kill you. Each form of medication has a lethal dose, or LD 50. This term refers to the amount of supplement that would cause 50% of people to die. Experts haven't been able to find an LD 50 for melatonin. Very high doses of melatonin weren't even fatal in animals.
So yeah, you can not die from it. Even if there was a published amount, melatonin is not regulated at all, so you have no idea how much is actually in the pills. They can put something on the bottle, but there is nothing to compel the company to actually match the melatonin amount in the bottle to what's on the label.

Melatonin pills aren't particularly harmful. I don't think any amount of them can actually do anything. Unlike sleeping pills which chemically affect your nervous system, melatonin pills only stimulate your body to produce more of a hormone called melatonin (hence the name) which regulates our sleep cycle (by making us sleepy). If there is more medicine that your body can process, it will simply get excreted. That's why doctors say not to take multiple melatonin pills to fall asleep faster. It actually just makes you feel sleepy for longer, but the sleep itself is completely natural. This is different from pain killers and sleep meds that kind of slow down your nervous system, tricking your body into thinking that you are falling asleep.

In America the FDA makes sure we live in bubble wrap basically. My opinion is no. Plenty above to support it.

I'm sorry you have to suffer, I always wish it's possible to overdose on accessible pills and it feels so cruel to me how that's not the case as I just want to simply cease existing in peace and never suffer ever again, I hope that you find the relief you search for.
