So I got prescribed some tramadol extended release and am wondering if it is a good substance to OD. Or is it a good thing to mix it with something?

Welcome to the forum.

Tramadol LD50 (Source: Wikipedia)

228 mg/kg (LD50, Rat, oral)
350 mg·kg (LD50, Mouse, oral)
200 mg·kg (LD50, Mouse, s.c.)

LD50 means that with this amount 50% of experimental animals died. You can estimate how much you need to have a 50% chance that in case the human body reacts similar to the meds you want to OD on.

"Extended release" sounds like the pills contain sth so that that active substance (here Tramadol) is not released immediately and fully which makes it harder to OD on - almost impossible.

What's the dosage? I can tell you what you'd feel like a little if you try to overdose on it but let me just say, it's not going to cause you to CTB.

When I was going through my opioid abuse phase, I tried tramadol ER when I couldn't get my hands on Tapentadol. Tramadol is an extremely weak opioid. Even with 50-60 pills, which were like 50-60 times the recommended dosage, I barely felt any different. I did have a massive tolerance but it just caused unstable heart rate, feel like I had something on my chest a little and make me calm down. The extended release version is even worse than the regular one cause it lasts like 6-8 hours. Okay for recreational use if you have never used opioid to ease your nerves/ minor pain relief, but not good for CTB. Don't bother. You'll just be fucking with your liver.

Oh I also mixed with with massive benzodiazepine overdoses. Like I'm talking 20x the highest midazolam dosage you're meant to take. At best I blacked out for a couple hours but nothing else. However, all these were oral/nasal. Not sure if other intake methods are any different. But drug overdoses are notoriously ineffective as a CBT method, unless you're talking like fentanyl/heroine. And even then the only one I'd be comfortable with is twice the recommended dosage of fentanyl in the opioid CBT guide.

I was thinking the same! The ER gave me some for my kidney stones and I'm saving them but I think what praestat_mori replied is correct! I'm going to my psychiatric next week and I'm asking for very strong sleeping pills
