Hey, so I just took 150 mg of Tramadol. It does help my depression, before it I was agitated and panicked and now I am more calm.

I don't know if I took it every day if it would stop working, and also it apparently reduces connections in the brain, which is not idea, but I can't go on feeling this way.

It makes me calm enough to function, which will mean I can work, get my will written, prep for CTB if I want to etc.

My mind is blank and I'm in pain today and can't think straight at all...I did find some research on the long-term use of Tramadol for depression and some people do use it successfully.

Should I just try it for a week or two, then I could take a break and use weed? At least it would give me two weeks off?
Plus - isn't it weird that I still have period cramps even on this Tramadol. Isn't it meant to be a painkiller!!!

There are research reports that say it helps depression, including treatment resistant depression and also great reviews for depression on drugs.com

I tried it before at 50mg, but these pills are 150 mg.

It's not perfect, I'm bedridden today, just not as horribly agitated. I don't know if it takes time to build or should be taken intermittently.
About 10 minutes ago I started feeling a million times better. Am out of bed and functioning.

I'm not sure I want to do Tramadol every day, but it helps a lot. My other options are: Prozac (but scared I will lose my job if the start-up effects are as a bad as they can be with agitation etc...), I guess oral Ketamine which I might start today in any case, or I could get a lot of shrooms and just be on them more often, but I'm not sure whether or not that will help.

I had to take Tramadol for a while after surgery. It was HIGHLY addictive, much more addictive compared to benzo's for example. And I still have sleeping trouble after getting off it a few months ago. I wouldn't recommend taking this long-term to anyone. If it can really be used to treat depression, I would only do this under strict doctor's advice and not experiment with this kind of drug yourself.

Also, it might be possible you're not allowed to drive anymore after taking this. Not sure if that matters for you, but take that into account.

I'm bedridden at the moment with depression. Nothing is worse than this. Just pointless and exhausted.
I don't drive, but I did notice Tramadol makes me worse at crossing roads. I don't like it that much, so I'm not taking it every day. Just being bedridden is shit.

Didn't know about Tramadol and depression. Am prescribed dihydrocideine max dose, pregabalin ,diazepam for bone and nerve pain. On rare occasion if haven't had access have used others or bought Tramadol online but it has never worked for pain in the same way. 're period pain pathways for muscle relaxation very different and uterine muscle a particular type in itself. Good luck with that!
What I have noticed 're diazepam is that if low it can be the tripper to send me spiralling down so am careful as need try be in control. When have been forcibly sedated lorazepam ( same group) hasn't made me less agitated EVER lol probably because long term tolerance.
You in UK is that right? If so BNF is Drs bible 're prescribing so would say if given scope to use for depression. Not heard of it being used but if it works.... I also once telling my psych that I believed oestrogen was a neurotransmitter and know in mental world discussions about why so little asked of women 're hormonal cycles EVER in a psych life.

I've used tramadol for pain for about 15 years. 200mg ER and 300mg ER were great for depression for about 7 years.

I stopped taking Tramadol a few times to try other meds. First day off was ok. 2nd & 3rd were difficult, felt lousy and used some 25mg bits to help with the withdrawal. After that, I was fine.

At this point, I don't get any mood benefit from it. But, it is still good for pain. Just last week I switched from 300mg tramadol to 15x2mg oxycontin. The 300mg Tramadol I think gave me more pain relief.

People say Tramadol is very addictive, but frankly, it was easy to stop. You just need to get past the 3rd day.
