Does anyone else wish they could take the place of someone else who deserved to live? I see all these articles about children dying of cancer or other tragic events and wish it was me so that they had the chance to thrive. It makes me so upset to see so many people trying to live who end up passing anyways.

I've felt this way. I feel like someone else could have done better with the hand I was dealt lol!

I haven't had the best life, but I can see someone with better motivation & fortitude coming out of it relatively successful & happy.
All of the opportunities I've had have been wasted on me. If I could, I'd gladly give them to someone who could've utilized and enjoyed them.

That said, I was very young when I had my first few brushes with death. I could've very easily been on the other side of this dynamic, and look at where I am now.
I guess it can never be said for sure whether any particular person was spared or stolen from.

There was a time where I was experiencing a lot of paranoia due to sustance abuse and my mental health totally collapsed. Back then I truly believed my suffering had to happen in order for someone else, better people, to be happy. So I was ok with my pain. That belief faded away tho, because I learned life just happens, to all of us, and it's shitty and unfair continuously, and that helped me somehow to accept that I just can't expect anything good to happen on its own in this world. It's either putting 10x times more effort or ctb, now I have to decide which one I choose.

Well of course! I would be happy to trade since they're dead already. But you've probably meant to trade somewhere before dying. Then I'd be clinging to life with my claws and passing anyway, and another person in return would be me, slacking off in front of a computer, playing videogames all day.

I wish I could swap places with so many people that are suffering but want to live. For me this is especially true for people of Syria who don't support Russia or Assad. Also, the forgotten people of Palestine.

I do actively try and support these people to help ease the guilt. Through donations and attending relevant events to help raise awareness etc. But what I do never seems to be enough and knowing that really kills what is left of my soul inside. It hurts.

I wanted to swap with my recently deceased maternal cousin brother, so it goes (I really have no other way of responding to events like this). He had leukemia. He was... 6-8 years old, I think. I don't remember exactly. He was the only cousin brother I could tolerate, and even somewhat liked.

That's so awful... I'm so very sorry to hear that. I'm sure he's found peace from that disease, at least. Much love to you

In a way you can do this, just be sure to donate your body parts upon death, your life can potentially save many ;)

I would love to! I'm just afraid they won't be accepted because of all the drugs I've taken + I don't know what my last attempt did to my organs but I know it's nothing good lol! Thanks for your perspective, I'll look into it and see if anything is salvageable :)
