I'm torn between CTB and recovery.

I'm currently failing college because of my depression, and it is only a matter of time before my parents find out. I also have a lot of bills coming up, and I won't have enough money to pay them.

I kind of want to check myself into a hospital, but I'm scared about what my parents will think (I'm 19 and live at home).

At this point, I'm seriously considering CTB - I don't see a way out of this situation. If I'm going to do it, I will have to do it within the next month.

I hate this.

I'm sorry that you are going through this. I can imagine that it must be stressful being in that situation. I know that it is hard to carry on when you are suffering so much. I wish you the best in whatever you decide to do.

I don't know the full scope of what you're going through. From this information though, I know I'm going to hear it from SS but failing classes isn't the end and neither is missing a couple bills. The world will keep turning and you'll get another chance. It's as simple as retaking the class. They give you quite awhile before you get booted for academic performance. I know college issues well as I went to 4 of them. Let your adademic advisor know things are getting tough. Consider medical leave if you're breaking down. Just talk to the financial aid office too because I got billed for my medical leave. I never paid, it went to collections, and dropped off after so many years.

What are the bills? Let them go past due. Let them hit collections worst comes to worst. Those companies aren't going to go under without your payment and if you're at home with your parents then homelessness isn't looming at the moment. If you want to try at life let your parents know things are going awry for you. Any sensible adult knows how life is at 19 when you're just getting your start at all this. Maybe your parents are tyrants though, I don't know.

Maybe these things are just the last straw and you're underwater. Either way, well wishes and I hope you find comfort.

depression and some bills... you can get yourself out of this for sure. put your bills on your credit card and pay the minimum every month or more if you have the money you dont have to pay it all at once

Thank you for your suggestions.

Regarding college, I may do that. On the other hand, I really dislike my course and I honestly don't know if I will be mentally well enough to do it one day (nursing). I could also drop out, but I can't disappoint my parents - so that isn't an option - hence CTB. Anyway, I will have to decide.

The bills are for my car, insurance and some medical things. You have a good point though. I feel better about them now 🙂

These things are kind of the last straw, but I suppose there is a way around them. I'm just so tired.

That's true. Thank you 🙂

I probably made it sound like nothing, but I'm already so close to the edge and this is just yet another thing ☹️
