It's all a big hoax. A scam. Therapy didn't do anything.

I agree. The only thing that could heal us is : a full brain reset. Impossible of course...
That's why I don't want to see any doctors anymore.

That's a very generalized take...

While I've not had it work for me either, I wouldn't dismiss an entire field like that.

I don't even see the point in going to therapy anymore, I'm so glad I quit. All therapy did was make me feel slightly good for an hour and give me a chance to complain. Nothing can rewire my brain, and I don't need to pay $150 an hour to realise that.

Exactly! It's time we wake up and begin to not take bullshit from these miserable little parasites on the state!
Most of them are just mentally ill people in denial anyways, and they think they can get some catharsis from peddling brainwashing and bullshit to others of their kind instead of the thing we really need- the sweet release of death!

Therapy just wants you to become functional again for the system...

I half agree. I've been to 4 therapists and a lot of them invalidated my concerns and gave me overly simplistic solutions like "dear, why don't you just stop the overthinking before it starts?" Yes Deborah! Idk why my retarded ass didn't think of that!! Crazy how our mind works?

You can't talk or think your way out of mental illness. You cure it by spending time with people you care about, laughter, leaving toxic environments, being your authentic self, and experiencing nature. And even then depression is a normal part of life, the deep empty feeling in your chest allows you to feel compassion and appreciate the moments of joy when you have them. Life isn't always going to be sunshine and rainbows and while you're here you need to take the good with the bad.

No therapist would've ever told me anything like this, otherwise they'd lose their jobs.

Don't settle for just any one, you really need to, have to, be able to, get on with that one special some one, if that sounds like a description for a dating site, well you'll know after a couple of meetings if it's a right fit or not.
You have to be open as in lay everything out on the table EVERYTHING are you actually ready to do that, bare all to a basic stranger. The certificate on the wall behind them means nothing it doesn't mean you are open and honest just because they have a certificate. But the real start is being open and honest to yourself, own all your faults identify some you didn't realise you had, accept them, identify when and what triggers you. That's it because nobody can change you other than you all we can do is listen without judgement. I'll gladly take your $$$ thank you

Therapy helps some people and not others. It depends on the problem. But if it's not free, there's unfortunately a sizeable chance they're taking you on for the money, not cos they can fix you. Countries with free health care don't waste therapy on people it won't help, but countries without free health care can have quacks too willing to take your money

The people on this site need to realize that something not working for them =/= it not working for others. There are people who are more receptive to psychotherapy compared to others and telling people that it doesn't work just because it didn't do shit for you is damaging. You are potentially turning people who might benefit from therapy away from it. It's fine to talk about your own experiences with therapy and to vent about it, but can we fucking refrain from claiming that it doesn't work at all? For some people, it really helps them. For others, it doesn't. At the end of the day, insisting that therapy, as a whole, does not work makes you no better than the dumbasses who treat it as some sort of miracle cure to mental illness and trauma.

I hear about neurofeedback. That's a kind of reset, isn't it ?

For me, I will not do that now bc it cost so much money (>30k$).

My time in the chair was also a waste of time, but I cant say I completely regret it. I couldn't understand why talking was supposed to help me, so most of the sessions felt pointless and the therapist had to push info out of me. I was so embarrassingly inarticulate and just confused. They tried to say that I have autism but I dont believe it, I'm pretty sure thats just how the US works; they want to diagnose you with something. None of the solutions seemed to sit with me, and because I rejected ideas that I knew werent gonna work, they labeled me as 'rigid' (and therefore autistic). Despite all that, I didnt mind having a paid friend for an hour a week
