  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I know you all hate me why do you think I distance myself as much as possible and never speak unless it's important? But I'm wrong for wanting to be alone...damned if I do, dammed if I don't

I have family members who do this and it sucks. Coming to mind: my mom and my grandma. My grandma wants me to talk to her more but she's an alcoholic + an angry drunk and it's super difficult for me to tell if she's drunk or not. The only way for me to tell if she starts acting crazy, and by then, it's too late. But if I don't talk to her enough, she gets angry with me. Damned if I interact with her, damned if I don't.

Being an alcoholic myself I'm very sorry how it affects you! Alcoholics are HARD to deal with especially having a family member like that. My heart goes out to you

Thank you, I appreciate it. And no need to apologize! I should say that I have nothing against alcoholics. Most of my family members currently are or were addicted and they aren't all mean like my grandma. My dad, before he went sober, was sad and irresponsible. My aunt is a happy and irresponsible drunk. It's not a good thing to be addicted but not all alcoholics are like my grandma.

I totally admit that alcoholics are not fun to be around. I'm sorry you have to deal with it. Cutting them out would be the best solution. But that's not alway possible. I cant give any advice.
I think you misunderstood. Alcoholics who treat others like shit have no excuse.
I'm writing too much I'm sorry but they are not gonna change that easily. You have to cut her out or be hurt over and over. Just my 2 cents

needing to feel like we belong and are accepted somewhere socially is a very basic human need after shelter, food, water and safety. it's very sad that this is well documented in science but we put no priority or effort in making sure humans have this need met.

Yes, social rejection is processed in the brain like physical pain.

I didn't read what the other wrote too drunk tbh. But if you cant you have to manage your expectation. She will be drunk and rude. That's what you can expect from her. Keep it superficial. No serious stuff.
