I just came across this report, in French, it is possible to activate the English subtitles, and to translate the page to see the comments. A housekeeper hanging on the balcony, and wanting CTB, was saved by a 90-year-old man and young people.

I came across extremely unpleasant comments from pro-lifers, I advise you to sort the comments according to the most recent, to display all the comments.

There is this comment that makes me very angry! Under the nickname "Sam Miwa", which says: "Quelle égoïsme de la part de cette femme qui a mis en danger tant de gens pour sauver sa petite pomme. Bravo aux bons samaritains pour leur courage. Suicide par médoc pour faire chier personne.", in English: "How selfish on the part of this woman who has endangered so many people to save her little apple. Kudos to the good Samaritans for their courage. Suicide by drugs to piss anyone off. "
Well, fortunately, there is a pro-choice comment, it's that of "Yoannbzh1", who says:
"Bon, ça se voit qu'on ne peut pas choisir sa mort, on ne peut pas mourir comme on le voudrait. Même si on légalise l'euthanasie ça ne sera que pour les malades. On fait tout pour nous imposer de vivre alors qu'on n'a pas décidé de naître !
Elle est belle la liberté !", in English: "Well, it's obvious that we can't choose our death, we can't die the way we would like. Even if we legalize euthanasia, it will only be for the sick. They do everything to force us to live when we have not decided to be born!
Freedom is beautiful!"
There is also this one, under the nickname "Serge Van Dyck" who says:
"Pourquoi contrarier la décision de cette femme ????
Sa décision est le fruit de sa souffrance ,qu'elle ne pouvait plus supporter.
Pour elle mourir était une libération."
In English:
"Why upset this woman's decision????
Her decision is the fruit of her suffering, which she could no longer bear.
For her, dying was a release."

yes, it's all absolutely outrageous. disgusting society. the right to die is our fundamental right. i hate and despise how society makes "heroes" of those who "save" suicidal people. they are constantly restricting methods for us. i'm a person, not a slave. so wrong and so disgusting

I completely agree.
In my opinion, if you don't respect someone's wish to CTB, you've never truly respected them as fellow human beings.

It always disgusts me when I hear of people interfering in suicide attempts where the person would had otherwise succeeded if they went through with it. Other people should have no right to interfere, it's extreme cruelty to want to make existence into a prison and force people to stay here. I really hate pro life people and it's just so wrong how they get praised for doing the unacceptable thing of prolonging someone else's suffering.

How heartbroken must be the person who is saved, being so close to death and then being forced to come back.

They always play it out like just stopping ctb will basically solve all the problems.

Maybe afterwards things can get better, but that's no guarantee. Not everyone can have a "happy ending", some people's lives are just shit then they die. It's not other's responsibilities to refuse one's choices because there's a non-zero chance they might change/regret it.

Instead society should work so that death wouldn't be so preferable in the first place. Make a world worth living in instead of just prescribing drugs and shit to everyone who feels otherwise. Like, make a society that doesn't make people lose their minds and have crisis, instead of just taking these things.

Honestly if you stop someone from ctb you shouldn't be called a hero until they're happy with being alive afterwards. Otherwise you just brought the spotlight and shame on someone who really didn't need it... possibly just to fucking die anyways.

Too bad pro-sufferers can't be sued for interference, especially if and when their actions result in severe consequences like brain damage, trauma, job loss, medical debt, eviction, and/or homelessness.

Fuck that noise. Our culture is deeply rooted in christian values and you can't just expect a functional and adapted person not to glorify life. But that stems even before any culture. Life only purpose is to keep itself alive. It can't be otherwise. People celebrate life, what they see and what they feel, what they are charmed by. Always did, always will. Death is technically a blind spot for all people and it's charm is not so on the nose.
So, fuck that noise. They don't know.

Curiously, a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate Order) can be drawn up, it is a record of your will not to be resuscitated to avoid the suffering derived from this process, be it broken ribs, spleen damage or even brain damage depending on how long your heart has not beat. Icatches my attention the similarities in the ethical discussions on the matter, obviously this and the main topic are not the same but it's an interesting comparison to say the least.

And of course not a word said about what pushed her to that situation, in their eyes a suicide prevented is always a win, next they will try to make her go to "therapy" and get on some pills, yea that will fix that womans problems... people are delusional, and no one should have to resort to jumping to end their suffering, it looks like a a scary and horrible way to go, the people that rescued her is the same that forced her to do that in the first place

The fact is interfering with a suicide attempt could never be good; it wouldn't be acceptable to put tape on someone's mouth to silence their free speech because they may regret what they would say later on. Unfortunately they are living contradictions and it's so awful how much pain they continue to cause by invalidating peoples' suffering and forcing us to live here in this bitter hellhole. I so wish I could ctb with others being understanding and supportive rather than do everything in their power to make me fail, but I guess that's too much to ask for in this desolate world.
