this town without me- a poem

[Chris Can Fly<3]

This town without me:
When I feel helpless, helpless enough to make no change,
I wish to disappear from here,
I wish to leave to a place so distant,
I wish to go to a far-off land,
A land where no one is around,
A land where there's no sorrow or pain to be found.
There are no friends, family, colleagues, or peers on that land,
On that land, I can roam as I please,
Swim in the water as much as I please,
And rest when I want to rest,
On that land, I think about the city I left behind,
The people keep going as if nothing's changed,
The adults keep working as if nothing's changed,
And my mom keeps eating as if nothing's changed.
When I consider the town without me, I feel a sense of ease,
I want to go far, far away, where I can find peace.
