I have to give thanks to the creators of this site and the awesome people that have/had become a part of it. To the people that have passed may they RIP, I strongly believe this site has saved many lives of people that might've been on the fence and would be devastated if this site were to ever go down.
This site is like a warm blanket on a cold evening, I really cannot say enough about this place. I believe this site has kept me alive even though I should've been gone long ago, every day I think of death and this site creates comfort in an uncomfortable world

I know I would be pretty devastated if this site ever got taken down. Only been here around 2 weeks and already met many decent people and some not so decent, but wouldn't trade it.

The one thing I can see that is a huge positive is that what SS offers, as well as tremendous support from others who actually understand and do not judge, is knowledgeable information.
Although some may argue that being able to access information on how-to methods will encourage people to CTB, I seriously do not believe that unless you are already at that point, no web site is going to make you want to die.
What that accurate info does though is save people from immeasurable suffering by attempting methods that do not work, or by executing them incorrectly.

It's been a place where I've been able to gain so much knowledge through research and learnt not to do anything stupid on impulse. I'm in a much calmer state now thanks to SS and everyone here who are so kind and helpful.

I can only hope the cops and legal teams surely monitoring this website recognize this. It bears repeating that suicide has existed long before the internet existed, and removing this website and a true support group won't give the results I know they are hoping for. Going after SS is victim blaming and nothing else.

I would be so lost without this site, honestly... This site has saved so many lives and it has brought so much comfort and peace to others. It has given us hope when all we saw was nothing, but pure darkness. I don't think anyone understands that. This site isn't encouraging or influencing anybody. We educate and we share our stories, we find people we can relate to and not feel so alone. It's a safe place for many... And I can't imagine that being taken away from so many people. That would be so terrible.

When Reddit banned the original Sanctioned Suicide subreddit I was way more disappointed than I'd expected to be, even though I pretty much knew it was coming. Once Mods from the SuicideWatch started popping up in discussions on Sanctioned Suicide I figured the subs days were numbered. Those mods didn't like having their bullshit called out, I'd bet money they ran to the Admins.

The very creepy /suicide/ board on 8Chan was well nigh unreadable, pretty much like the rest of the now defunct 8Chan. It wasn't pro-choice, it was explicitly pro-death.

Very glad to have this site for discussion, it seems to strike the best balance between free discussion and civil behavior.

I couldn't agree more. I still believe that it's inevitable that I will die by my own hand, but I no longer feel that I have to end it NOW. It's such a relief to not be alone in suffering and wanting do die, and to be free to speak about any subjects, however difficult. I believe and hope that this forum has saved many souls from a premature and unnecessary death.

this is exactly how i feel word for word, this site has not only helped me to stay strong during my worst moments, it has also educated me on methods, in a way i found relief in knowing that i can peacefully exit.

i would be suffering so much without this site, without the great people that run it and the community of wonderful people full of empathy.
in half a year this site has been more therapeutic than the 10 years that i've suffered with psychiatrists and their despicable drugs.

Too bad the rest of the world wishes to take this virtual sanctuary away from us. Whatever if these massocist's wish to live their wasted existence through its entirety then they can have it. Me when my time does come, I'll go with my head held high with zero pressure or regrets, it was just not ment to be.

I have to give credit where credit's due. Before coming here, I was putting some effort into what seems like a little talked about method, bathtub electrocution. Now I know about the Night Night method, I feel somewhat at peace.

I feel like I'm mostly chatting here right now, which is the point of a forum I suppose, but I'm somewhat set on my method.

It comes across as a very good community, although I do wonder how often it changes, as people change their mind, or simply choose to exit.

And when someone does CTB we get blamed for assisting them (finding a scapegoat is a popular tactic) The world has already taken enough from us, they will not take our right to find an outlet and vent to others going through their own struggles, its bulls&!t

Even more important I think this site has saved a lot of people from fucking up with methods like even if you have to be 18 years old to join any teenager can still do it and they might learn that there dad´s gun under their chin will fuck them up for life or take me at 15 years old I tried killing myself with dozens of paracematol which I have heard was a peaceful way out, now teenagers and anyone who think about doing this can be detered from ending up in an agonizing death or anything worse.

It´s incredible how many has been guided away from methods that wouldn´t kill them and might mentally or physically cripple them especially the many threads about " I have these pills are this enough to kill me" I am not hating as I said I did the same at 15 but had no real source of information to ask now all these people get detered from horrible methods and if we take economics into it I bet this site has saved the hospital a lot of resources and money by not having to "save" another from a failed suicide attempt and the list goes on like people asking about what height to jump from which is too low and would have a high chance of crippling them if they land legs first and the people who want to jump in front of a train instead of train decapitation etc.
