I'm only 20 but I prefer forums like this over that Discord thing that everyone uses. I regret the decision to join Discord in 2016. It has lag, messages won't send even with good internet, interface looks like shit, you don't understand much from server chatrooms, it's hard to make and manage a server etc.
The devs of one of my fav games closed their forums and moved to Discord lmao. As if anyone can use that complex, childish shit. They didn't care that there are boomers who play that game and also used to frequent the forums and maybe aren't used to such instant messaging apps. Not to mention that on the forum there was important information and guides, good luck finding that between tons of useless messages and memes. I've a feeling that they moved on Discord because they weren't able to moderate the objective negative opinions on the game they were receiving from veteran players on the forum, it's easier on Discord with power abusing reddit-like mods ;).
I also got a bit of the taste of 2000s forums, chatrooms and apps like Yahoo Messenger (I still cry over YM's dissappearance, it was the best messaging app ever, I remember spending hours in YM Avatar, save my avatar then change my mind and spend another few hours there until I'd get satisfied). Aaand the chatrooms man. I met my first bestfriend around 2011 in a chatroom on a platform that was really big between 2008-2012.
Also the preponderance of anime avatars makes me feel like a boomer.
Imo anime is for all ages, I mean there are mature animes that anyone could watch but indeed most of anime watchers are young and that's why anime nowadays is more targeted at teenagers.
