I'm young and we're always told by statisticians that "Life is getting better because life expectancy is improving, less people are in poverty". Too bad it's sort of B.S. It's getting harder to make it for these reasons:

1.) It's getting harder to get any job, nevermind a decent paying one. My dad who calls me lazy but clearly admits he had a better time in the job market during the 80's admits that places like McDonalds would hire you after an interview and a bit of training. No need for a CV. They didn't turn anyone down and infact overexperience was liked because they thought that you could bring skills in academics that would help co-ordinate with your employees, employers and eventually climb up the ladder.

Now.....forget about it. Too much competition from people who aren't retiring, and numerous unemployed people between 18-50.

2.) Drug regulations are increasing. The media would give you the impression that we're getting more liberal on drugs (at least in the US) but it was probably better to live in the 80s and 70s when it came to being a drug user and even suicidal. GP's would prescribe benzodiazepaines and opiates like candy even here in Western Europe where drug prescriptions were always relatively conservative. But ohh...it just takes one lawsuit (as happened in the UK) and a few parents angry from overdoses that a complete overhaul is done.

If I'm not wrong, they've even "pussified" drugs in terms of their overdose capability. AFAIK, you could literally overdose on first generation (sleeping pills, anti-psychotics, antidepressants). Now they've tried to make them "safer" while taking away our liberties.

3.) 'Rapid' descent into a police state. You'll here politicians say that it's the safest period to live in but at what cost? Those who give up liberty for temporary security deserve neither. Air travel was probably less secure before 9/11 but guess what, people enjoyed it more. Until 9/11 happened (conspiracy aside) and shit hit the fan. It created a domino effect on not just aviation security (how much and what food, currency, dangerous goods) but an overreaction.

4.) Better technologies but cannot avail of them/haven't made people less ignorant. We have so much better technologies when it comes to medicine but guess what...we still live in the dark ages in terms of how ignorant society is. I can't get a surgery for something that is considered "minor" not because the technology doesn't exist but fucking doctors have an overinflated ego and are judgemental with their "someone has it worse".

Plastic surgery technology is getting better but yet society is still against people modifying their bodies (so called free society. One could argue that getting plastic surgery in the past was actually easier with less technology because it was not looked down upon as much.

I have 18 years. The situation of people in my age is a joke. The competence is extreme, bigger than it never was, people have to trap theirselves in a 12 hours shitty job for paying their studies and not in the university: before it. The necessary marks for entering in x career are continuously rising more and more. We can't do ANYTHING. The required level is extreme and you must sacrifice your life and the very few things you enjoy doing for studying something you hate with all your heart for 12 hours, six at college and six more at home. And this amount of time can be not enough sometimes.

The competence at jobs is huge too and studying it's only the "easy" part of all this. The laboral world is very fucked, companies demands us each time nore and more. More studies, more motivation, more experience that you don't have because they refuse you if you didn't work before, entering in a neverending loop. Even crap wage jobs requires more conditions than before. This is just a fucking shit.

I live like a fucking slave now and I will still live like an asshole for only surviving, living one more day and repeating this process. And I can't complain because:

This stage of life is the best.
Students live very good.
I can't be lazy.

I have hundred reasons for wanting to kill myself. Young people have it harder than never. And I still must endure toxicity and shit about teenagers, "your brain is not fully developed, teenagers doesn't know how life really is, you only should due if you are over 18"...

Please people, stop blaming us. All this situation is fucked up enough and see all this hatred against us just makes me wanting to cry. Support us and accept death is and ever wll be better than living like this.

The thing is, when I talk to people about this IRL, we always seem worlds apart. I don't mean in the sense that they think I'm negative but rather they just don't think on the same wavelength. I don't think it's depression that's causing me to believe this.

I suppose with a supportive family who gives you money and having few problems then it's much easier to glance over these problems. Not the case with me.

You gotta take into account that IRL communications result in an instant feedback and online you can just skip whatever doesn't interest you.

For these problems themselves;
1) Very true for classic jobs but on the other hand we have new industries that are booming
2) Why would you want to OD ctb on <sleeping pills, anti-psychotics, antidepressants> these days if you have effective drugs like N or more commonly accessible but highly lethal fentanyl
3) This really depends where you are located in the world
4) Agree, especially people harassing those with modified bodies even if it's minor change. If you want a surgery you could always consider 3rd world operations or finding a rogue doctor

I guess some things never change...

The only good thing of being suicidal at this age is: if I succeed, I won't live in this way so many time.

You have 29 years right? Then, I will be saving that 11 hellish years.

For me idea of living more than 30 years is scary as fuck.

It's true, things for the young are worse because the baby boomer generation had a large group of sociopathic narcissists and under them the government grew in size and power. You can't have freedom and all these socialist programs. You need kids to grow up in two parent homes but that pretty much went out the window once they incentivized women to start having kids outside of a commitment. There's lots more of course that happened to ruin things for the younger gens. Stefan Molyneux explains how they sabotaged western civilization on YouTube. He's got tons of great videos explaining the gradual process of the destruction of the US and other formerly white majority countries.

You're right, my life's a load of shit and I've been trying to get out of it for the last 5 years, and I'm 15. My brain isn't developing, if anything, it's degrading, slowly, into madness. I'm pretty sure in a few years I'll be straight up insane. I'm certainly not going to succeed in my life, and I don't feel the need to put myself through a few more years of grueling schoolwork and shitty people I don't enjoy speaking to, only to either work a dead end job until I drop dead, or go to college for 4 years, where I'm even more likely to drop dead, and even if I don't, I'll end up working a slightly less dead end job, until I die. So why shouldn I stick around for that? Shouldn't it be my choice on whether I live or not? I thought people respected bodily autonomy, but it looks like that only counts if it will get you another slave.

Since you are so young, I wouldn't give up just yet but I can definitely recommend some people to follow and read their material to spare yourself from future misery by learning what your realistic options are in the current situation of this country. I highly recommend Aaron Clarey's books. They will save you from making terrible career choices and help u figure out what to do with your life. He has a youtube channel too and answers questions for young pple who are trying to make wise decisions about important life stuff. Also watch Jordan B Peterson and Stefan Molyneux. These people have really helped me understand what is going on and making sense of it all. I wish I had access to this info b4 destroying my young life and getting myself into massive student loan debt among other problems.

At least we (aside from the most ignorant people who don't use technology for knowledge) got out of ignorance and discovered the harsh reality of life. But what we did get when we tell others the truth? Harassment, rejection, more abuse..etc. Basically they try to silence us so everyone remain ignorant and follow norms and the system rules. Its very clear even if they don't want to see it, the system and bureaucracy are wrong and not efficient, the social constructs are illusions and life is a shit we got trapped in.

I'm happy (despite this may looks contradictory) to live in this age with technology and my current situation to discover that the best logical route is to ctb. I would thank technology, music, gaming, anime, food..etc because they are my real treasure and my real friends. I'll ctb and probably be nothing but if there is something I wish I would be with my real friends.

Fuck every else age, life sucks no matter when and where. Better to (if possible enjoy whatever one can then leave) leave right now than looking at the horrible past or the unknown future that has the ugly death and the ugly flow of time.

Just to add something, fuck jobs and the whole system. It doesn't matter if it was more available or not. A form of abuse and greatly inefficient way for humans will not produce anything better. What happens today is because staying with the same ideas. If humans want to be better, they need to be scientific and create new methods. But no, they don't want to, they'll destruct themselves by ignorance and stubbornness.

Hopefully I'll ctb so I don't care about the outcome.

Honestly I'm a pretty smart person (or at least I tell myself that), and I know better than to get stuck with student loans, I've just got so little I care about and such a negative perception of the world and society, that I don't have the willpower to put in the effort to succeed.

This is actually the most saddening thought that I've ever entertained as well.

And that's why I've always tried to encourage others to understand things rather than wasting time ignoring and fearing them, but I'm just a metaphoric drop in the ocean

Actually we were doing that for a long time, trying to create a better civilization but then the evil people got into positions inside the governments and started to reverse the progress. Look up postmodernism, this what the elite have been doing to destroy civilization.

Yes, I'm just complaining about the fact that those who sustain the foundation blocks of the pyramid should feel responsible for what's happening. Even those who are aware of what's going on at the top still try to pursue a rather shallow lifestyle, despite of their proclaims.

This is why they are evil. Politicians largely say one thing and do the opposite. If you ever look at the stated goal of just about every government program, the opposite of it is what happens. So welfare claims to alleviate poverty but what it actually does is trap people into permanent poverty more often than not. Abortion claims to reduce child abuse, it claims to be about choice for women but in reality abortion causes a lot more problems for women and society. It destroys the economy, disincentives marriage, effects whites the worst bc the other groups do not abort near as much so it's like one way the elite are producing a demographic shift basically replacing whites. There is a dark reason they are doing this too. The FDA kills more people than it helps by preventing cures and promoting drugs that are bad for you. Also restricts the use of drugs that are less dangerous and better for u.

What most people don't understand is the next financial crisis will be the big one. Our current system will fail, and it has been engineered to do just that. This forum is going to explode in membership when it happens. Mainly it is going to be quote on quote "normal" people wanting to take their life painlessly because they are starving to death. Being that I am suicidal anyways, I am not worried about it. Here is a synopsis on what is going to happen. This is for the United States and Europe specifically.

"The key element to understand the process that the USA will enter in the upcoming decade is migration. In the past, specially in the 20th century, the key factor that allowed the USA to rise to its colossus status was immigration with the benefits of a demographic expansion supporting the credit expansion and the brain drain from the rest of the world benefiting the States. The collapse of the Western financial system will wipe out the standard of living of its population while ending ponzi schemes such as the stock exchange and the pension funds. The population will be hit so badly by a full array of bubbles and ponzi schemes that the migration engine will start to work in reverse accelerating itself due to ripple effects thus leading to the demise of the States. This unseen situation for the States will develop itself in a cascade pattern with unprecedented and devastating effects for the economy. Jobs offshoring will surely end with many American Corporations relocating overseas thus becoming foreign Corporations!!!! We see a significant part of the American population migrating to Latin America and Asia while migration to Europe - suffering a similar illness - won't be relevant. Nevertheless the death toll will be horrible. Take into account that the Soviet Union's population was poorer than the Americans nowadays or even then. The ex-Soviets suffered during the following struggle in the 1990s with a significant death toll and the loss of national pride. Might we say "Twice the pride, double the fall"? Nope. The American standard of living is one of the highest, far more than double of the Soviets while having added a services economy that will be gone along with the financial system. When pensioners see their retirement disappear in front of their eyes and there are no servicing jobs you can imagine what is going to happen next. At least younger people can migrate. Never in human history were so many elders among the population. In past centuries people were lucky to get to their 30s or 40s. The American downfall is set to be far worse than the Soviet Union's one. A confluence of crisis with a devastating result."

I haven't read all the posts, and I don't want to diminish what anyone is saying, I just want to say I find all of this kind of ironic because, personally, when I was young it was the best time of my life. I always used to be such a happy person. It wasn't until somewhere along the way in my 20's during college that I started dealing with problems of depression and anxiety, which just got worse as time went on, particularly after I was all finished with school. Now I'm 32, and I'm quite miserable all the time. I guess the experience is different for each individual.
