Sitting in the darkness.

Many people assume that living should be the default, and being incapable of rational thinking (which is ironically deemed impossible if you have suicidal thoughts) means that you must live until you are capable of reasoning your death (many don't even think you can.) But in truth, there is no reason why life should be the default or have an assigned positive value; it is inherently negative. Even on here, many seem to think that depressed / mentally ill people, young people including young adults, and people who have weak reasons for ctb should be denied the right to death. But, following this logic, there is no reason why they shouldn't be denied the right to life instead - they are incapable of reasoning whether their suffering is worthwhile. If you look at it this way, it's so easy to see why forcing people to stay alive is irrational and senseless. I wish people in this society weren't so shallow and petty about whether people they don't know live or not.

I don't think any of us ever said that somebody "isn't allowed to die" but we just wish that they wouldn't give petty reason the power to kill them. I still support pro choice, but dropping your apple shouldn't be a reason to die. I personally think that some reasons are petty. No offense to you if you think different, I just think both sides need to consider each other.

I view it as being disgusting to wish to force someone to stay here and deny them the right to die. Existing should be viewed as a choice rather than an obligation and it's a choice that I would never wish to make. If people want to suffer and decay from old age then that is fine for them, but it's just insane to expect everyone to feel the same way especially as I believe that it's more rational to wish to cease existing and be free from all harm rather than existing in this hellish world where chance determines everything.

People place so much value in life when in fact life is something so useless and unnecessary. We are all destined to die and life leads to nowhere but death so there could never be anything wrong with choosing to leave at a time of our own choosing. It would be irrational to say that suicide is a bad thing in any way as there are no disadvantages to being dead. Death is the absence of all harm so to me being dead is ideal.

I get that. It makes sense. My comment doesn't make me any less suicidal and I agree.

I guess that is fair. Some people have other reasons to live. I don't mean to upset you. I still believe it is your choice. Life can be petty for some people. I'm sorry you are feeling that way. I hope you find peace.

I feel like life is neither inherently negative or inherently positive. Life can have nice moments as well as bad moments. It's just that some people get more bad moments than what the good moments are worth to them.

That's an interesting way of thinking of things. Some people believe life spans used to be longer and that those people had many children. Especially religious people like Christians where life spans got shorter throughly the Bible. The world is wierd and that's why some people including mauled no longer want to live in it.
