Are you saying that people should have to toil and labor to feel that they deserve happiness? Keyword here is deserve. But I also feel that people are entitled to happiness. Especially after as much suffering as we have endured, I feel that we are entitled to happiness, and that's okay. It's okay to feel entitled to happiness. Happiness isn't a commodity, it can't be given out or sold. It is something that comes from within. It is the state of mind of a sort of mix of joyfulness, bliss, and peace. Almost like love, but love is a bit more of a faster and passionate feeling. Happiness is more serene and content, where as love is more warm and connecting.
Many of the users here (Including myself) have been robbed of these very feelings by the very same people who say things such as 'the world doesn't owe you anything.' OP was posting about their feelings and how they feel that society and the world has forced them to feel compelled to owe the world something, when in reality OP owes the world nothing. The only people you owe for anything are those who have done good things for you, and if it was truly a good thing, they probably aren't going to ask for anything in return.
It's truly a tragedy that people are made to feel like they bring no value to the world unless they contribute their labor for a low wage and at the cost of their physical, mental, and emotional health, as well as their limited time here.
