Let's say one wants to vent on view without the possibility of a counter argument.

What may help is blurring the detail, yet retaining the emotion behind that view.

Eg: Instead of [I believe Unspeakably Bad X should happen and I feel annoyed it isn't], saying [I feel annoyed because I want something dark (and secret) to happen, and it isn't happening] may express that view.

It's a lot harder for counter arguments to be generated against a secret, angered thought... vs a non secret, angered thought.

If the angered thought is particularly severe, and regrettable, blurring it thoroughly can even prevent bans or similar (if too angered, using a private Document is safer than a new thread, can't carelessly submit too early)

Feel free to reply, this isn't much of a resource without community input ^v^

Well if I understand this correctly it means that you can't vent about certain things period which was already true anyways.

You shouldn't be able to vent about certain things. Like being part of an extremist group and wishing harm on others.

However there are many taboo subjects about society and dozens of mistreatments that you should be able to talk about; but this site needs to operate on internet laws especially since I think that suicide is already a thin ice subject and it is what it is.

Before I found this site, I used to go on a subreddit about CPTSD that manifested in the Fight mode not Flight/Freeze/Fawn, you can vent there or find people who already did vent. I used to sometimes comment there before finding this site.

I say that for example people with CPTSD deserve a safe haven like that, wish there was one with ZERO restrictions because even that has reddit's rules applied to it. Vents that go around kissing other's ass are pointless to CPTSD people; if it's not something I can type here or on the internet, I type it in a notepad usually and keep it to myself. Just like I did before typing this post and before typing most things online.

Do I enjoy that it has to be this way? No. Will I retaliate one day because of this? I already do everyday. You can't be too ambitious however or you'll risk imprisonment. Do it just like others systematically abuse who they deem weak, you use their strategy on them and they will break.

It is what it is , the only ones who'd listen to my rants and say "go queen" are probably deranged people (which are everpresent) or other hurt people like me (good luck finding them), it sucks.

I already told myself that if I somehow comeback mentally and don't end up dying , I'll be that grumpy person that keeps it condescending and ruins everyone's day in the barely legal way, that can fuck you over at any time without receiving any consequences; so I guess congratulations to society for making people like me a thing? It's not like we put a significant dent in the species so why would they bother if our existence is not even a threat to them, REALLY wish I'd be here when that changes one day.

Excellent points. Some dangerous "vents" can cause real world harm too, especially those advocating violence against others (eg person says Group A makes me angry and Very Bad X should happen to them).

Notepad, and password protected Documents generally don't care what is being said, though, ofc... keeping the document private can sometimes be tricky. Closing it once done, and only venting into it when alone can help. It may even allow the angry thoughts to fade.

I kind of wish humans had root access to their brains, and can edit out the thoughts that they wish to remove... save stuff they wish to remember as reliably as I save posts on SaSu... etc.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then there are the very unpopular, and non harmful vents... sometimes best saved for offline storage. Sometimes... with proper revision... and confirming the posts comply with site rules and personal ethics... can be published without feelings getting hurt.

Example, editing the words "No one should want CTB" (which others... and even I... will interpret as deluded pro-life thinking), to a more nuanced "I wish that there was a world where recovery is easier and no one wanted CTB" (which also clarifies the meaning behind one's opinion. Maybe that separates a pro-lifer from a non-pro-lifer, idk)

agreed tbh~ in my own personal vents (which were more common 2 years ago), I've always been pretty secretive about details that my audience (whether it be Twitter or SS) would immediately attack me for or that I didn't want exposed~ It was usually the opposite on both platforms~ xD
