Talking to someone has never helped me before, probably because there are only two options of people to talk to:
1) The Professional
Supposed to be trained to deal with and help people with mental health issues. However, they will call the cops on you and lock you in a hospital if you tell them how you really feel. Also not your friend, and realistically would not care if you did die.
2) Friends / Family
Hopefully less likely to send you to a psych ward, but pretty useless. Saying you're suicidal might scare them or make them uncomfortable, possibly making the situation worse for yourself. Supportive people might have some good insight though like, "Have you tried to be happy instead?", "Maybe you should pray more", or "You should see a professional".
Neither are effective at solving problems like these. I get that some people really do want to help, but I don't think it's possible to help people like me the way things are right now.
Basically, if you talk to someone who can help, they don't care enough to. Unfortunately the people who do care, don't know how to, or can't help.
