• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I've made it my goal to give others a positive view point in the world. The most difficult of this job is getting your message out and convincing thoughts who don't care much. People who truly don't care are hard people to work with. They tend to never listen and try to drag a negative thought from positivity. Ik it's not possible to convince everyone the positives of life. That's something I have to accept. Despite all that though I still push on through. As for getting my message out there. That's still difficult. But I have plans for next year.

That is all. You are all cared for and loved. Bless your souls. Stay safe.

What you see as 'positivity' people dealing with real life see as you being a patronising arsehole with a tenuous grip on reality.

People need real, practical help, not empty words.

Positive viewpoints come from positive lives, generally speaking. Platitudes and speeches do nothing to fix a broken person. All your blessings would not heal a lifetime of pain. It's fine to have hope, it's good to want to inspire others. But you're missing something so vital. You aren't going to convince anyone of anything when you so clearly look down on them. You want to help yet call them hard to work with and judge them for their negativity. The world and life will beat someone down so relentlessly, what reason would they possibly have to draw a positive conclusion? You and millions others have this lofty aspiration to be a savior of the damned but it takes so much more than whatever this emptiness is.

People are entitled to an opinon. I do not hate you for your conquest, and I hope that you find it successful, however that may be. However, a lot of people on this forum, including myself, are very set in stone about our worldview. You'd be best trying your luck elsewhere.
Don't worry. It's not here. I feel like that would be impossible. Though any advice for it would be helpful

I find it's healthier to just give people alternative perspectives and let them choose whether to take them or not.
I can only control myself, fretting over things I can't control is futile and exhausting.

I think it's fair to feel bad for people who have a pessimistic view of the world- that they might be missing out on some of the joy. But, as others have said, I think you have to acknowledge what's happened to them to make them like it- that's the really sad part.

Some of it will be strategic too. Someone who gives their trust very easily and who has a generous and kind heart is also open to being exploited and abused by an faction of manipulative people in this world. So- they may turn slightly cold/ reserved/ defensive even as a result. That might be wise to an extent if they are magnets for abusive people. It's sad but, it's just how it is really. I've seen the nicest people get the most hurt because they trusted the wrong person and either didn't see the warning signs or, were too nice/ placid to protect themselves.

I don't know why you want to convince people to have positive thoughts on a forum like this. I guess it could be fair game to do it in the recovery section but, for the suicide discussion or the offtopic section, it makes no sense at all. Also, I do acknowledge that life has positives but the issue that I have with pro lifers is that they don't acknowledge that there are more negatives than positives and that most (but not all) positive things in life have a cost to them and that cost tends to be a negative experienced by another sentient being.

Something that I've noticed is that those who talk about being positive all argue from the perspective of individuality (i.e. the positives come from an individual feeling positive and everybody else is irrelevant). People like that are so frustrating for me to see because I genuinely don't understand the disconnect that these people have. If I value my welfare to where I want to avoid suffering as much as possible, why should I be hypocritical when it comes to all sentient beings as they also have a brain and emotions like how I do? It's impossible for me to ever reconcile with those who talk about the positives of life as their moral foundations are significantly different to mine and that genuinely terrifies me. It just goes to further show that I'm really not meant to be a human

It is quite a challenge, not gonna lie! Don't break your teeth on that, because it's impossible to change minds with words alone, people have to convince themselves rather than be convinced when its about such things and for this to happen, there must be something positive to change the water flow of thoughts inside their minds. Without anything to change their view, honestly it's a difficult thing, but it's not wrong to spread positivity :) Wish you the best with your goal, but beware of how difficult such a goal is.
