• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Give little emphasis to suicides, do not make a suicide event repetitive, do not emphasize suicides even if they are not in the media, criticize the suicide methodologies of stars or other members, do not be detailed in describing a suicide (media or otherwise). Talk about it in a scary way. All this helps to increase fear, or as some call it "Survival instinct". In short, you boycott yourself. You write this because many ask "why do I want to die, but I can't". Well... that's how the mind works. The more you create uncertainty and negativity towards something, the more the desire to implement that something decreases.

Paradoxically, the more we talk about failures and the survival instinct, the more we tend to procrastinate.

I agree that this is the tactic the 'normies' use. Not sure about it's impact on SI though. It may of course make us fear a particular method more but I feel like SI probably turns up at the end regardless. I haven't attempted yet, so I don't know how bad mine will be and how able I'll be to get over it. But, I see SI more as a reflex reaction of the body realising it's in (mortal) danger. I don't think that's culturally created. I think it's primal and intrinsic to our brains. We can of course still overcome it though.

If it really existed: seppuku and many other things would not be possible.

I honestly think that this works to an insanely powerful extent. The way that suicide gets treated and talked about sure makes it harder for one to actually kill themselves. We always rely on other human beings for things in life ever since we were born but suicide is one of those things in where, aside from the baseline amount of information present on this forum (which most suicidal people has never seen), we're all alone in suicide and we have to figure it out ourselves. Even with all of the information on here, you still have to do a lot of work on your own and, if you can't figure something out, you're just screwed as you can't ask for help on it. Even on here I've noticed that people are so quick at trying to prevent somebody from killing themselves if they display some sort of uncertainty but very rarely (in comparison) will people help those who ask for information on something related to suicide.

Also, yeah, talking about failures is something that keeps me alive (as well as not being able to figure out how to die in the first place). I'm scared of failing a suicide attempt and ending up with immense pain. I'm just scared of pain in general and the reason why I want to die is to prevent my future pain as well as the pain that if be inflicting upon others by me merely existing. Also, I only have one chance at actually killing myself. If I fail, I won't ever get a chance to attempt again as my parents will make me their prisoner for as long as they are alive

It's really oppressive to feel surveilled like this. Unfortunately, too many people think they have the right to manage our existence and decide how much suffering we must experience.
