Can I just od myself on moderate sleeping pills found in pharmacies, some alcohol and then swim off into the ocean hoping to die?

Today I had the same idea. But not with pills from pharmacies, diazepam and or fast acting benzos.
Pharmacies sell soft medication without prescription.

You could try to set a world record that is risky, at least when you survive, you've got something going for you. Sounds stupid, I know.

I don't think OTC sleeping pills are powerful enough to put you in a coma. Without being in a coma your survival instincts will kick in.

I would try to do research on various drug cocktails that could put you down first, like morphine or heroin. Maybe try using Dream Market to order them.

I've considered doing some heroin + a bathtub of hot water. I think Whitney Houston did it that way. She also took prescription sleeping meds, so combining that with heroin seems like a good method.

Yeah I think being a coma is better as the body's survival instinct is insane and will do everything and anything it can to cling onto 'life'.

Inebriation and rough surf will kill you regardless of survival instinct, and even if you are familiar with those conditions.

I don't think the otc pills would help. The plan could work if you found a spot with a riptide that pulls you out to sea.

Before I found this forum, this was one of the methods I was considering due to the fact that there's a good chance my body would not be found and it's an eco-friendly way to dispose of my body after death.

However, and this may sound stupid, but I couldn't figure out the logistics of getting to a good location (reasonably far from land) alone without the risk of someone finding and rescuing me.
