Going to get my amazon gift card around Christmas then buy my supplies, then just do it. I found my "sweet spot" so to speak. So what if I'll have discomfort. Will it be any worse than living another day in this bullshit? I'll make sure to finish and mail my mainifesto beforehand.

I did a lot of research. It's a genius method. When I tried to hang myself in 2016 I wasn't really thinking about where to compress. When done right it's no more painful than what a marine does during a chokehold.

I'm 35 and in shit health. Haven't got my cholesterol checked since 2010 but it was extremely high. I am 100 lb overweight (310 and 6 foot 2). I'm an alcoholic chain smoker with stage 2 hypertension despite the meds I'm on. Got no motivation to move off my bed.

Do I catch the bus or will the bus run over me? If I keep on living I'll probably die soon anyway. I look like a fat Emporor Palpatine ffs! Even though I am the same weight I was in 2009, I got that alcoholic bloat going on in my face. I ain't gonna live much longer anyway.

Thanks man! I figure it will be uncomfortable but not as uncomfortable as I'll feel a year from now. I'm in rapidly declining health as it is due to my lifestyle. The "night-night" method or a heart attack. Easily the first.

I can tell a HUGE different in my health between 2016 and now - even though I been drinking for 4 years. When I look in the mirror my face is so pale it looks like I'm already dead. Also my cheeks are bloated. I feel like shit every single day unless I'm drinking. My blood pressure is higher as well. Couple that with eating like shit, severe sleep apnea, and depression/anxiety and that's the recipe for an early death.

When I woke up today my blood pressure was 136/107. It did go down to 121/98 but that is still high. I'm half way between 30 and 40 years old. Shit is starting to catch up. My dads blood pressure a decade ago was 180/115. Can't believe that dude is still living.

Hi thanks for posting. I would caution you that chances of success with this method are pretty low IMHO. There were many, many people reporting they had attempted and failed at ligature strangulation (tourniquet or ratchet) in a 'megathread' on 8ch. My guess is that, like partial suspension, most attempts do not result in unconsciousness. Probably even more so for people like me who are overweight with a thick neck.

Basically I guess I'm saying I wouldn't do things (like maybe posting your manuscripts?) if doing so meant 100% you had to follow through and succeed with this method directly afterwards.

Whatever you choose good luck.

Hi Seneca,

What makes you say so? You mean even with partial suspension, after we passed out, it doesn't result in unconsciousness? Thanks.

Thank you for the info. I need all the information I can get! Has anyone ever succeeded in this? It sounds so good on paper. I will get the supplies I need and test it out. If it doesn't work it doesn't work. I have a thick neck too so this may be a problem. When DS failed it was discouraging. I don't have many methods left unless I jump off the 876 River Gorge bridge.

I'll figure it out. Test some and see if it's right for me. I'm not going to get the tools then go at it like it's 100%.

Hell I can feel my health declining over the past year. Even over the past 6 months. I wake up every morning coughing my head off, and my skin fills all crusty. "Why don't you just eat right and workout"....harder than it seems.

I seriously don't know how much more punishment my body can take with all the things considered above. I don't want to die of a heart attack or stoke (which will probably happen soon). I got out of breathe by just walking up the steps today. My dads been like that for years. I hated my life when I was healthy and hated my life as my healths failing. I look like a dead body with eyes wide open when I look into the mirror. My cheeks are all puffy and shit. Didn't look like this two years ago. But I'm too damaged to be motivated enough to live a healthy lifestyle. Like I said - depression is like being mentally paralyzed. I want to fucking go! Shouldn't be this hard to die.

Here's the link to the (long) thread if you want to check yourself. I haven't caught up on it much in the last year but my impression back then of the thread was that there was initial excitement about ligature strangulation followed by a lot of people claiming they had tried and were unable to lose consciousness. https://8ch.net/suicide/res/7105.html

Hello

I mean that I think most people trying partial are actually unable to pass out/lose consciousness. It is common to experience a pressurised 'head swelling up' feeling but more difficult to achieve the correct feeling of consciousness fading out peacefully.

What weight were you at when you tried hanging and what was your method of hanging? Why did you fail?

I feel ya my man, depression, shitty health, more mental health stuff, its certainly a recipe for saying fuck it. I get it.
I've been practising and failing, bit I think I got it.
Did we talk in my last thread (sorry I forget, my memory is shit) learned a bit about the whole ratchet method. If you for any questions hote up man. I feel somewhat more educated than I did a few days ago.

I'm second guessing the night-night method since I posted this thread. Seems like a lot of people are having problems with it.

Why is this nightnight method such a tough one to pull off? Its sound like such a quick, easy, and painless method, whys it gotta be so hard? Every post I read nearly everyone say it doesnt work. Can we find out why and overcome these obstacles?

If a marine chokehold you your going to pass out 100% right so no reason we cant replicate this with the same success rate.

What if we take a mannequin and use its arms to chokehold ourselves? Use ropes and stuff to make sure the pressure is tight. Im desperate for this to work and willing to try anything

Exactly, you're basically wanting to replicate the rear naked choke, but of course the opponent (rope, cord, zip ties or whatever) never let go.

Im thinking of getting something like the below pic and bend its arms to a chokehold position using ropes. Do u think it will work?

Im not quite sure but would be interested to know because of course the human arms would definitely compress the carotid. My concern would be how it'll be once unconscious. I've seen videos of partial hanging where the body thrashes a bit. However, when I got the closest to blacking out completely it legitimately just felt like I was falling asleep slowly. I would have been out for sure if rope was anchored. Since it was a test run, I just threw the rope over a hanging hook and held onto it as long as I could. I was fading and everything was black, I could barely see. Lost motor skills and of course let go of the rope.
I would like to know how sturdy that is, if it can hold you up, I don't imagine it being an issue. I wonder if the arms would be sturdy enough to hold you up.

One difference between a mannequin and a human is the muscles. I imagine that, during the choke hold, the muscles would bulge (at least the bicep).

I also checked out the product and it's a metal frame covered in polyurethane foam. I believe this to be a lot softer than muscle tissue so am not sure you would be able to apply the required amount of pressure to the correct area.

I do like the way your're thinking though. Some sort of lever covered in a material that can replicate muscle structure (latex maybe?).

Solid points. What about the dummies they would use on mythbusters
