No, it's not.

I don't hate people like this. I think they're just misguided and believe they're helping. I think these people don't truly understand being suicidal and are under the impression that their actions are noble.

SN has faced a lot of regulation in the last few years here in the U.S due to it's highly frequent mentions on SS, and successful check outs by users here. These cases brought SN into the mainstream as a method. This is objective, you can refer to many old news articles.

Another reason why it's important to be mindful when talking about it, in my opinion.

I highly doubt their track record is as impressive as they'd like everyone to think it is.

But you cannot, in good faith, say there aren't people who want to restrict people's access to self check out methods. This site alone is under constant scrutiny from the mainstream media.

This is how I feel about this kind of thing too. The part of my brain resisting the overwhelming urge to take the leap tells me they're doing good. But then I think more and I see the hypocrisy in what I'm saying, since I have a box of SN tucked up next to me. Overall I just try not to "feed" or "encourage" people's thoughts, but it's not exactly like their desires are going to stop because some rando pouts and refuses to tell them where I got my poison from

Even when we're only giving shortened names for the sources and trying to hide their identity anyone with at least above average online researching skills(so basically a lot of people especially within millennials and gen z) can track it down and report it.

We need to figure a better method of gatekeeping providers without completely removing access to that information.

I do believe whoever is responsible for hosting this forum should make it so google cannot index it. (its possible to put a "do not index/crawl" tag/flag of some sort, web devs should be more familiar with this than I am) https://developers.google.com/search/docs/crawling-indexing/block-indexing

I understand where both sides of the aisle are coming from, these types of issues are complex, and almost no issue can just be chalked up to good or bad, people are a mix of both. This person thinks they're doing right, and maybe in a way they are, and maybe in a way they're not. Others on here hating them is fair, but I think it's just misplaced, as much as it is for this person to limit access to CTB for people who suffer from a low QOL. It all depends on the circumstances of each unique situation, nothing is black and white, just my thoughts.
