Soon after my most recent attempt my family found out. I was very quickly brought to a hospital, against my wishes. Got there fast enough and I was very quickly checked out. Somehow I was pretty much fine despite having chugged a very lethal dose of aerosol (toxic cleaning chemicals). My problem lay however with what followed. I was kept in the hospital for two days and one night, for some reason. As boring as it was, I was getting through it mostly fine until night fell. There were absolutely no beds available. Far from it. Numerous hallways were lined with trolleys that were being used as temporary beds for people staying there. And even these trolleys were in high demand! I sat on an uncomfortable bench with a very conveniently placed handrail in the middle that overall made for a terrible place to sleep. I sat awake, forced for hours on end to listen to a boring show on a tv that was frankly way too loud for a damn hospital, and a lot of people that seemingly didn't know or care who was nearby as they conversed very loudly with anyone they saw. At 5:30 they finally had a trolley available, on which I got a few hours of sleep before heading back to the bench. On top of it all, I spent most my time after thinking about how there were likely people who needed a place to rest far more than I did, who actually had a reason to be at a hospital. They didn't even do any more checks or anything. Just told me I could go after a while.
Why was I forced to stay for seemingly no reason? And how the hell have things gotten this bad in hospitals?
