how long is this supposed to take?

should I try vomiting or diuretics or drink alcohol to dehydrate myself faster? what can I do to speed up the process? are there any foods I can eat? I have an eating disorder and would love to be able to enjoy food during my last few days

edit: I am a 20 yr old healthy male if it helps on time estimates. also any tips on how to deal with my roommate? I assume I will just slowly die, but I'm scared of passing out during the day and him freaking out. please don't talk to me about the moral correctness of this because I don't care

Alcohol and food both contain water, it's recorded some people have gone up to 18 days without both. This isn't really a reliable method and yeah, there's no real way around passing out from low blood sugar or dehydration, so your roommate will likely notice.

I've thought about starvation myself. Longest I've lasted was about 5 days before breaking it off. It was suprisingly easy, especially with the good pain pills (I was just out of hospital for an unrelated surgery). Never tried with fluids, but this story doesn't sound especially pleasant. You'd need a will of iron, and would probably be bedridden the last few days, so not good if you have someone who might try to "save" you.

I tried this. It is only difficult the first day and night, and then you get used to it. The problem is that after a few days you start experiencing pain in your joints as they loose fluid. From that point on, I don't know what happens, just that the pain is unbearable.

You need access to morphine to do this.

Depends on how healthy you are. Patients in nursing homes stop eating and drinking, fall into comas and are gone in under a week but they're not in good shape to start with. A healthy person will take "awhile" to die.

Also, it wasn't clear if you understand you need to stop eating plus stop drinking, period. Nothing. Very little liquid will sustain the body longer than commonly thought.

Dehydration works by giving the kidneys no liquid to get rid of toxins in the blood with urine. The toxins eventually make the blood thicker. The lungs can't then move the thickened blood through. The heart speeds up to push more blood through the system until it stops working. You're dead.
