I was wondering, can't you directly drain the blood from your carotids if you puncture it with a needle syringe and let the blood flow out

I was wondering, can't you directly drain the blood from your carotids if you puncture it with a needle syringe and let the blood flow out

that is going to be slow, and clot prone... so probably not feasible (afaik).
