I find this activity very relaxing and it distracts me from my ctb thoughts. Anyone else here swims?

Nah, I did it competitively, was a lifeguard, taught kids how to swim for my job, etc. Unless I'm in the ocean, I see swimming as work.

I do. I've read that team sport is better, but swimming is quite well for me, I'm feeling better after pool.

I used to love swimming, but all it reminds of now is drowning. Scares me really bad. Whenever I go to the pool I float to the bottom and look up at the sky until I run out of air, barely making it to the top before I need to breathe. It's kind of terrifying. Also, it's silent underwater and I can hear the voice in my head telling me to die which really isn't fun :( happy you find it relaxing though!

Swimming is wonderful! My health does not permit me to enjoy this activity, unfortunately.

But if it's one thing I hope to do before I kick the bucket, is to swim in the sea again. I looove the salty taste, the smell, the colour, the waves... Especially that feeling when I'm on the beach and, as the waters recede, my feet sink a bit deeper in the sand.

I love swimming but rarely get to do it with so many health problems, but also as am sensitive to chemicals, the swimming pools are full of chlorine and such high amounts 9 times out of 10 if go swimming I am very ill after with effects and brings on awful sore throats and stirs up my glandular fever symptoms I had years ago as very weak spot for me. Swimming I feel is incredibly therapeutic and also gives you time to think and try and free your mind, every stroke I would find helped how I was feeling or just led on back floating very relaxing. Its also beneficial as its exercise and any sort will help lift mood even if just a little or for the time. If I lived in some hot country with clear blue seas, I'd be in that water daily, as the sea means so much to me anyway.

Unfortunately, I can't swim. But it would have been nice to been able to learn. It does seem peaceful and relaxing... I'm glad you have found something that provides you with a good distraction as well as relaxation.

I find water good in general – muscles relax as water carries you. Eased pain.

I like the water. Not a good swimmer though. There's something calming about rivers, ponds, the ocean. The sound of a flowing river can be pretty peaceful.

I used to windsurf and loved being in the water, but can't remember the last time I went. Gave up almost all my hobbies over the last few years.

Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming.

I actually haven't been in a while actually. Not since before I was REALLY set on killing myself...so I've been a little preoccupied lol. It'd would be nice to go again actually. I got a membership at the Y, and fuck, apparently I'm still paying for it monthly anyway! So I better frickin use it anyway! Ugh, the one thing I DON'T care for though is seeing old man balls in the change room. Fuck. I mean, I'd like to think nobody wants to see my dick and balls anymore than I'd like to see theirs, but nope!
