There are so many things I hate about summer, but the absolute worse is how glorified it is. People with seasonal depression tend to have depression episodes in the fall and winter, when summer hits or even spring for that matter they crawl out of it. I'm not ripping on the validity of this at all, people have different struggles and seasonal depression is unique to those that deal with it, what I am ripping on is those people talking for all of us. Everyday I've been seeing more people talk about how things get better, and even huge long stories from people with seasonal depression telling them why it does get better not acknowledging that the reason they're happy or not miserable is because it's summer now. People with seasonal depression act high and mighty to those of us who don't have it when they're out of their episodes. Because everything can be cured if you put in the effort and get help, and those of us who don't are just wallowing in our own self pity and want to be miserable. But once the weather starts to get uglier suddenly they sympathize with us more. It's like when depression Is present it's not so easy to cure. And it's not just seasonal depression, that's just what I've seen present the most, but anyone who's had a depressive episode or not even that but went through a heartbreak or something that doesn't even compare to depression, but suddenly when they're out of that episode they're speaking for all people with depression?

Funnily enough my mental health has plummeted as the days have gotten longer and yes people in general seem perplexed and not very compassionate: in theory they are, in practice not so much.

I mostly hate summer. It's humid, the horse and deer flies come out to attack, the days are longer, wasp are out, it's sunny and I have a lot of eye problems like visual snow, a ton of floaters etc and I tend to get more depressed. My favorite season is winter and that's when I tend to be happier sometimes getting hypomanic

Arrogance is an incredibly common human trait. Everyone's a fucking expert in their own mind. Because they felt very depressed for one day in their life.

I'm kind of an oddball when it comes to the way I feel during certain seasons. I despise both Winter and Summer equally, but for totally different reasons. Spring is okay for me I guess, but since depression is a part of my life all the time anyway, it never goes away during those months.

The Fall season is when I feel the most alive and the least depressed, particularly in the middle when the weather is nice and it isn't hot like summer or cold like Winter. I also like seeing the colors of the leaves change, and I love the fact that the wasps, skeeters, and all the other insectoid pests crawl back into the hellholes they came out of.

I think the fact that I love Halloween more than every other holiday (and I always have) plays a huge role in the way I feel about it honestly. I often think about ending my life near or just after midnight on November 1. Something about doing it during the only time of the year that I actually like is very appealing to me, so maybe it would help me to feel more at ease and give me the extra push I need to get it done.

Maybe seasonal depression and chronic depression are different disorders altogether, despite symptomatically being similar. It's kinda like how a brain tumor and a severe hangover both result in a headache.

Oddly enough my depression and especially ctb thoughts peak during summer. My home country is in the tropics and the constant, relentless 100+ degree heat (even at night) drive me insane and leave me unable to think of anything positive. It's bad enough that all my ctb attempts so far have been in the peak of summer. I fucking abhor sunlight.

I find summer to be the most depressing time of year personally. I hate the warmer weather and it makes me feel much worse. Some people will never be able to understand as they are not in a similar situation themselves. Things may have gotten better for them but they have no evidence that things will improve for other people. Saying that things will improve is just invalidating what others are going through and of course they have no idea what other people are experiencing as they are not living the lives of others.

That's one of the (multiple) reasons I hate summer too...the blazing bright sun. I have eye problems too, and light sensitivity and yep, floaters as well. A lot of them. So the bright bright sun, even with sunglasses on, really bothers my eyes and makes the floaters more annoying. I'm so happy when October comes and things get cooler, greyer, and less INYOURFACE like summertime. I hate though that I can remember when I was a kid and into my 20s how much I loved summer and swimming and going to the lake and summer nights and all the things I was able to do then that now, I can't. I wish I could forget that I once enjoyed summer.

I used to love summer as I loved amusement parks and sometimes seeing my cousins, but now it's one of my least favorite seasons. Winter is the best because the bugs die off and not as many sunny days plus I like the snow when I don't have to drive in it

This is really the only reason I hate winter. That and freezing rain. It sucks scraping ice off of everything.

I wish we could skip over summer

Especially now that it's here. It was 100 degrees F where I live today. I'm just glad I don't have to work outside.

That's really hot :( it was like 90 F here a few days ago and humid which made the horse and deer flies worse. Yesterday they were swarming my car and I had to run from my car to the house fast and I ended up letting out an "ahhh!" and one tried to chase me šŸ˜…

Weirdly though I find that most of my ctb attempts have been in the summer rather than the winter.

I find that autumn and winter is far better, cold dark nights being cosy in bed watching movies with a hot chocolate listening to the rain beat off my window.
Whereas in the summer it's hot as tits and I feel bad that I don't go out.

Rain is the best when I don't have to drive in it. I also hate summer because sometimes, it pours heavy and then people don't know how to drive in it where I'm at

Flies suck, but a couple weeks ago I had a terrifying experience where I tried to get in my car and the moment I opened the door, a giant hornet came flying at me out of the crack between the door and the car frame. Scared the shit out of me lol. I didn't get stung thankfully, since it just flew away.

That does sound scary. I hate anything that stings
