Wish they'd have been more vocal about their true thoughts on the mess society is in with regards to the necessity of undignified/lie strewn (often gruesome) suicides today.

FYI:

Eells jumped from a building by the way.

Looks like they're not going to release Wilson's method nor Eric Harkness' (a NAMI advocate last July).

From the article:

"The thing about depression and anxiety, and other mental illnesses or psychiatric conditions, is it typically involves our brains lying to ourselves," said Julie Cerel, a professor at the University of Kentucky College of Social Work and a past president of the American Association of Suicidology."

The default dogmatic position that it is a problem with your thinking - and not a problem of a lack of fulfillment, meaning, love, and purpose in your life - is so ignorant and destructive.

Can you imagine the invalidation and lack of support one feels after sharing all their suffering, disappointments, struggles, failures, and lack of meaning, only to be told "Nah, it's not any of that - life is a blessing! It's just your brain chemistry. Now take these pills and stop complaining"?

I am a LCSW-R. Got my masters degree from New York University, and I am board certified. I just had a failed suicide attempt, and am getting ready to try again.

Suicides of two mental health advocates. Even mental health advocates feel the stigma? Meaning talking about suicidal feelings is taboo?

Most people in the psych field also have psych problems. Found that out when I researched PhD programs.

I'm not surprised by the guy from UPenn. Their MH services are awful! So many students from UPenn have committed suicide during their semester over the past decade. google it.

Jarrid Wilson - one of his last few tweets:

Loving Jesus doesn't always cure suicidal thoughts. Loving Jesus doesn't always cure depression. Loving Jesus doesn't always cure PTSD. Loving Jesus doesn't always cure anxiety. But that doesn't mean Jesus doesn't offer us companionship and comfort. He ALWAYS does that.

I'm glad he tweeted this. So many pastors lie to their congregations about "Jesus cures" or make people feel bad when they are doing everything they can to help themselves. Some pastors even think MH problems are due to evil demons taking over. People need to hear this messages so they dont think they are faulty or not good enough when going to church doesnt cure them.
