Suicide note copies

Hi all,

For people planning to make a note, are you planning to make copies? Iv'e been planning everything out, and I heard that the cops confiscate the notes as evidence or something - which is really shitty.

So I was going to make copies, I'm not sure if I left them togeather if they would take all the copies or have the common deceny to just take one copy?

The thing is I'm not sure where I would hide it otherwise. I've seen some people plan to leave a delayed email, but I want to write it by hand.

Tbh I'm leaving a delayed email and a written note, each for different people. I don't think it matters whether the cops take em or not, as long as they reach the people they were meant for.

are you planning on writing one general note or notes for different people?

if the second option, one thing you could do is mailing the notes to different people. this way you know they will reach the recipents and you will still have a plenty of time to finish (just like a delayed email)

i think that if i were to leave a note in the place i was to CTB, i would leave two copies - with one having a clear note that it is a copy for police if they need it, but it has the same text as the other one. i guess it would make them feel obligated to leave the first one alone

When I was actively trying to kill myself I kept a copy on me, another prominently displayed at home, and another in a drawer. Now that people know I have health problems that jammed up my life the notes are just a list of contacts and bank accounts. I have one pinned to a bulletin board and another in the drawer.

This is something that has always delayed my decision to CTB, besides what to write in my suicide note, is where to leave it. Making various copies and scattering them around does sound like a good enough plan

Yeah, I don't know how long they hold the notes though. Think I heard before that they hold it for ages in some cases.

Problem with mailing it is if you chicken out etc. you're gonna be found out. I think I willl make multiple copies and hope the police have a heart for once and don't take all the copies.

As I live alone I'm not sure they will find it if I just hide it somewhere in my flat. Not sure what the process is tbh when it comes to someone's death who lives alone and sorting the rented flat. I may play it safe can keep copies near my body and hidden away.

I feel there is so much admin to worry about when CTBing lol. I think it's the main reason I haven't done it yet, don't have the energy to sort it.

i have the original handwritten one, as well as a digital copy. they are the same however i wanted to allude in the handwritten one that a copy is also available on my computer along with all my journals that could help my family and friends understand my decision better. i dunno. i prefer closures.
