Discussion suicide method

I have just read this suicide method on this website, under the section -failed attempts. How the person can have such courage.Read it

I once put my head in an enormous mound of fire ants, and proceeded to let

them eat it. They crawled up my nose, into my mouth, and down my throat.

Someone saw me and pulled me out before they could do me in. Healing took months. l

could not talk, could hardly breathe, and was force fed through a pump, much

like a vegetable

That seems painful. But if it is the way he chose..

With due respect to the person who claimed to have tried this... It is too hard to believe. It could be someone's fantasy method if they are extremely high on self-hate or going through an acute psychotic episode or under the numbing and disorienting influence of some potent drug.

There are limits to what you can consciously control when it comes to external influence (called insult in medical terminology) on the body. Nasal and oral/gag reflex are very strong and primitive. It is much easier to stab oneself as in Seppuku/Hararkiri but not possible to allow and feel ants running down your nasal cavilty and your palates and throat.

Sure there are magicians who are sword swallowers and people with hundreds of bees on themselves aiming to get on the Guinness book of World Records but these are highly trained professionals not a person with fragile mental state desperate to end their life in such a bizarre way.

I feel sorry for the person who says they did this.

I thikn the more psychotic you are, the more likely you can be to try a range of methods. I've read for example that people can attack themselves with knives etc with psychosis.

He was inspired by the below passage from the bible:

from the Gospel of St Matthew, Jesus tells his disciples: 'If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away.

'It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell."
