Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

This is more of a question and something to discuss - I live in 35m² flat with a kitchen that has a gas stove - no doors between "living space" and the kitchen.

My question if I were to go and turn on the gas but do not light the fire before going sleep at night - would that kill me during sleep?

It would take some time for gas to fill up the room so I think I would be able to fall asleep - and then somewhere in the middle of the night the gas would end up filling the entire room and choke me to death?

What I say may not make any sense completely so it's more of a question - I don't think I would try it - more of curiosity - any opinion appreciated.

No. The Sylvia Plath method used coal gas, which is high in CO. They don't pipe that into houses anymore.

Yeah it won't asphyxiate you. It'll just smell, alerting neighbors, and create a fire/explosion risk.
Too bad - well, I could count on fire/explosion but that really kills a point of dying unnoticed and could hurt other people which I really don't want.

please dont do that. im guessing you wouldnt reliably die from the lack of oxygen, at most when the house goes kaboom, and that would bring me to my second point of why you should please never do this. you might harm/kill a lot of people if you do

If I had a single house I would...but I don't so yknow - dont want to put anyone in danger
Notice that house is a couple blocks from the camera. It still knocked stuff over and crap was flying into the yard.
In my hometown a house blew up due to a gas leak. Destroyed 17 homes and almost killed 2 neighbors.

Unless you live in literal nowhere...NO.

Thats why I am NOT doing this - tbf this is more of a discussion post - but it was already answered well enough imo
