I've been doing research on firearms and ballistic trauma for close to two years now and now that I may potentially lose my right to own firearms I started thinking about carbon monoxide but I also had a unique thought about crossbows. Crossbows like firearms are considered deadly weapons by law enforcement. Drawing a crossbow during an encounter with law enforcement would get the same response as would with a firearm. Now aside from a suicide by cop scenario I started thinking, what about a self inflicted crossbow injury. Now I looked around to see if this type of injury would be fatal and to no surprise it is. Obviously there would probably be severe pain but I've never seen this brought up on here before and wanted to see some input on it. So what do you guys think? Would you consider this method if you couldn't get access to firearms?
Update: just found an abstract from a research article on the subject. Two men shot themselevs in the head with low velocity crossbows and died. Though it is noted that their deaths were likely not instantaneous. Though it doesn't mention if consciousness was lost instantly. Here is the article: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/10624928/
Update part 2: So I did more digging and found another research article and it included brain scan images of someone who shot themselves in the head with a crossbow and I thought it was interesting.
