I am so sick and tired of listening to people talk about suffering being meaningful when they don't know how it is. Ugh.

I understand why you'd feel so tired of it, personally I see suffering to be the complete opposite of that and I simply don't wish to suffer in any way at all, I only hope and wish to never suffer again.

Pain is the only thing that matters in the universe. It shouldn't exist.

I agree. My parents are those types of people who talk about how valuable suffering is because "it's allah's design and not liking allah's design is a sin!!". It's just- how the actual fuck can I even have a conversation with these deluded fuckers when they can't even understand the fundamentals of life. There's nothing beautiful or nice about suffering. There's no religion, no afterlife and no meaning to suffering. It's all bad and it's pointless too.
Pain is the only thing that matters in the universe. It shouldn't exist.
This! Though the only way for pain to not exist is for life to not exist. Pain doesn't exist on mars or on any of the other planets empty of life

Yep just had someone bleat onto me about the "way of the cross" as a way of telling me to dig into my chronic illness better. I have broad spiritual beliefs and think most faiths and belief have some value, but seriously, try sitting in real suffering and tell me we should all just traumatise ourselves here.

"We all have to suffer to grow". Sure, how about suffering so much your sense of self is collapsing being so in torment. We should be able to give these people a life and body swap for a week to see how they go.

Suffering sucks, plain and simple. If it was only for a short time, maybe then it could cause some growth, but if it's long-term, chronic, and is never going to end, then it's just tragic, and there's no point to it.

People who say that there are good things that come from chronic, long term, neverending suffering have obviously never experienced it. If they ever do, they will change their minds on this instantly!

It's so weird to me when ppl are always on the "grind." Like that's great if you succeed and become rich and shit but what is it all for? What is the motivation behind it? Is it solely money? How can someone be driven for it after satisfying their material needs? After that, it just becomes a number no?

Yes, I like money but that's bc it can influence my circumstances.

Maybe smth is wrong with me cuz even ppl in my own life are posting "locked in" things on social media. Maybe I lack the ambition to fulfill my dreams. I'm genuinely so exhausted I don't know how ppl get out of bed everyday. Maybe I'd pursue the arts if I had some care in the world.

Depression has become so glamorised now, people don't realise how lucky they are to not have it.
