Sure can. Depends what drastic method you decided to use.

You could always buy a nice sharp knife. Nobody believes me, but slitting your wrist doesn't hurt at all when done right. If I were to ctb, that's definitely how I'd do it. Using a sharp knife to slash deep and fast hurts less than a papercut. Trust me. I first did it when I was 16. Didn't even realise how bad the injury was until I looked down and saw blood pouring out. Good times

Rope or a scarf & a wooden spoon. Cheap too.

@WelcomingPain There are many things that can go wrong with this, and not having functionning hands/arms in the case you survive the attempt is going to be hell. As for store bought ctb methods, there are a shitload of things that could serve in a ctb attempt, starting with a good ol' rope.

I actually don't have any professional medical knowledge. It might have been different for me because I had already been self harming for a while before then, so maybe I built up a tolerance? Idk. I just remember one specific time where I sliced my wrists so bad to the point where I needed like 15 stitches. It didn't hurt one bit. I didn't hesitate or look at my arm while I did it, and I just did it as hard and fast as possible. I also used a very very sharp knife (NOT serrated! Those hurt like a bitch) and I didn't just place the knife on my wrist and sliced. I lifted the knife up and basically slammed it down on my arm while slicing. The actual injury didn't hurt at all. The freezing for the stitches though? Oh god, that was the worst pain I'd ever experienced.

Aspirin if you take enough of it. Also a painful death too. Disposable BBQ for the car.

Depending on where you're from you can just pop into your local walmart and leave with a shotgun. Really depends on the method you've got in mind.

hmm yes ive heard self harm etc builds up a tolerance, 15 stiches isnt too many- think i had about the same - and no one battted an eyelid-not saying i wanted to them to-but 15 stiches is quite a minor injury plus - doesnt this show that its quite an ineffective method & you ulitmately did have to endure pain in the end - though i have no idea what ' freezing' for the stiches is?!

Local anaesthetic. A lot of patients say it stings like fk ..... until the anaesthetic kicks in so the area is then completely numb or "frozen"

Yeah, the injury wasn't too bad, but there was a lot of blood. I was pretty lightheaded and almost passed out lol. all I'm saying is that if I were to ctb, that's how I would do it because it didn't hurt for me at all. And I didn't self harm that much before then, so I really don't think my tolerance was that high. Most of your nerves are in the skin. Once you're past that, it doesn't hurt.

Yup. It's probably one of the worst things you could experience. Especially since the injection goes directly into the wound multiple times.
