• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Anyone have opinions about stopping eating and drinking all fluids to commit the act? You can go without food for a long time, but stopping fluids and you time is limited from days to weeks at best. I have read accounts where some say it was a peaceful way to go. Given the N is the best way to go but is so hard to obtain, one would think that stopping food and fluids may be a viable alternative. Any thoughts by anyone?

Think it would also factor on metabolism, health and body fat amount. Mostly, though, you can only last, normally, 3 days max without water. There are monks that accomplished this task for self mummification.

It is harder for younger humans (younger than 75) it takes offen minimum 7 days strict no Fluids. The tongue needs some wetting, some younger reported a unpleasant breakup.

Not a good way to go unless you have help. It took my Mother nearly 3 weeks, with hospice care, and she was 88. If you're looking for peaceful or painless, this is not it.

That doesn't sound like fun, and I plan on doing a lot of drugs before eating shotgun slugs as my final meal.

It's called VSED ( Voluntarily Stop Eating and Drinking ). And it is not easy at all. Also not usually pleasant. The only good side to it is you can have yourself declared competent, then have a POA and will for your health, and sustenance cannot be forced on you. In some places anyway. Other than that, if you can choose any other way to CTB I would recommend it.

Going without water is very difficult. You won't be your rational self anymore, so it's hard to know if you'll continue rejecting water for the sake of ctb'ing.

Going without food for months is very difficult without a pre-existing eating disorder. (though obviously, you don't necessarily want to go that route).

Idk, good luck to you if you decide to go that route.

Can you really not get any SN where you are at?

I have tried a couple of times to go without water. It's very difficult. The drive to drink when you are thirsty is very very strong.
Either you'd have to be somehow stranded so you could not get water. Or you would need to be supported with palliative care to get to the end. I think older sick people that 'vsed' have hospice care and probably morphine to help.

Yeah...I don't have experience with abstaining from water, but I honestly think it's easier to stop eating than drinking. They're both extremely difficult obviously, but OP, if you really want to go this route, it's probably easier to fast from food than from water...even if it takes wayyyyyy longer (especially if you're starting out overweight).

Maybe its true that if a person had as much willpower as that would require then they would not be suicidal.

SN is available, but that does not sound all that pleasant either. N, is the only " pleasant" route and that seems next to impossible to obtain. :(

What does CBT, mean?

At first I thought that it was an expression that was unique to this community but I have recently learned that CTB is an abbreviation of "catch the bus" which is supposedly euphemism in English for committing suicide. I have also heard of CTB being short for "cease to breathe" and "cease to be". I sometimes scramble it in my head and read it as CBT which is ironic ha.

If you intend to go peacefully then I would not recommend VSED as a method, especially if you do not have round the clock medical support throughout the entire process. This post includes a link to a blog that documents one gentleman's death from VSED. It is something to consider reading before deciding I think. As always, please do thorough research beforehand and take good care of you.

Agreed. I watched my mother suffer horribly for weeks as well -and that was with 24/7 care and morphine.
The last day was horrific. Although she couldn't communicate in any way by then, it was quite obviously agonizing.

I have read accounts where some say it was a peaceful way to go.

I heard the same, and I tried a few methods. Each person is different, but I can tell you for me it hurt like hell. Mostly headaches, feeling of tired, and a few other things. But I wouldn't recommend it. (The longest I lasted was about 5 days)
One of the problems with not eating and drinking is it can cause life long medical problems if not successful.

One of the problems you might come across doing it because it is a multi-day thing. If someone reports you, then it is possible that could land you in a psych ward. I mean as soon as you get to the hospital, it wouldn't take them that long to figure out you haven't eat or drink anything for a while. Depending on the location, they might have a shrink sit down and make sure you're OK. Otherwise they might send you to the psych ward after treating you.

I wouldn't recommend this. There are so many things that will come along with his like hallucinations and organ failure. People are also going to notice you not eating or drinking and are going to intervene. It's just not a good way to go. It's very painful.
