  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

It might sound brutal, but I think mental and spiritual agony is worse than feeling of hunger.

cases of self-imposed starvation are often linked to extreme mental health conditions like anorexia nervosa, as well as protests, hunger strikes, and other political or social actions.

Starving yourself isn't just a mild case of feeling hungry. It is much deeper and far more agonizing than you think. You are extremely unlikely to succeed based on a variety of factors. You will simply be torturing yourself for weeks. There are far better and more reliable methods.

Yes, you are right. It is very troublesome way to go.

It is doable but would take a long time and would require a lot of discipline. For it to make sense, i think you would need an unusual ascetic state of mind and some sort of spiritual/ideological motivations. Intervention from others could be a serious problem too: they can and will force-feed you

It is just, feeling of hunger, I find it more pleasant than pain I am experiencing right now.

There is a chance you get permanent damage if you are half way in and decide you can't take it anymore.
It really is a bad way to go from what I've heard.

I tried this once when I felt particularly languorous. It was not an intentional desire to strive for death through starvation. I simply lacked the energy/drive to consume anything. I barely managed breathing. At this time I was in a rather catatonic state. Extreme lethargy. I did not eat, or even drink, for quite some time. Eventually I was discovered, malnourished, dehydrated, and wasting away. I felt like a wilting flower. They nourished me through an IV and force fed me, small amounts, slowly over time increasing the amounts they would feed me, as my stomach was so used to tiny portions and rather shriveled. I do not recommend. You either have to be extremely disciplined, or in a state of emptiness. Even as excruciating as it was, I could not summon up the will to function.

I'd personally rather die painlessly in a quick way and never suffer ever again, that sounds torturous to try and succeed with and like it'd just lead to more suffering.

In 99.9% of cases this is not possible. Hunger has an intense effect on the mind, it's not just physical pain. Eventually your brain will enter a feral survival mode and as long as you have access to food you will end up eating...You'd have to be extremely mentally tough to do such a thing and even then I don't think it's possible.
