Okay so first after my last post and the support I got, I feel very guilty and bad for still being suicidal.
But anyway. I'm considering just completely not eating anything until I die. According to google, it would take 35-40 days to die. It would be painful and I'd die ugly but I have anorexia so not eating for a long time isn't really a big deal for me anymore.
What are people's opinions on this?

I tried dehydration/starvation.. Good luck. You need alot of dedication.

Only starvation could take you 3 weeks.

It takes WAY longer than 3 weeks, you could survive for months without food water on the other hand you will be dead within 10 days max.

Sounds torturous to me. Why make it more painful than what it already is? That's my opinion tho--

I considered it. Seems close to impossible. Maybe if you were on the street. I'm not attempting it tho

This is what I'd think, too--depending on how much tissue was on someone. I really like the idea of starvation but I'm too much of a pig to even get through a 2-day fast without breaking apart and scarffing down my walls.

I'm tiny. At most 5'3, 110lbs. I doubt it would take that long.
And ah, yes, even if you did that, you could purge and it'd probably take a bit longer but you'd still die due to restricting as long as you didn't do it too much.

I mean yeah. But I'm anorexic and depressed so I'm used to it lol

When I was in school I had a part-time job that allowed me to read books in a private library. I found this fascinating account by anorexics about their relationships with food, especially how the endured hunger. In my whole life, I've admired very few groups as much for the steely determination not eating for looooong times takes. I can barely get through 24 hours before I'm miserable and thinking ONLY about food. All other things aside, you have, in my view, a super-power.

Actually!!! I've heard of people who've died from restricting heavily for a while then binging and purging and then their heart gives out

I think it's a viable option.

I also believe you don't necessarily have to stop eating completely to do this. It may take longer, but I think a person could undereat enough to cause a very weak heart that would give out easily. Cardiac arrest. This is probably better than straight starvation, but would likely take longer than the 40 days.

Imagine the joy of watching others' shocked faces as the emaciation progressed. I'm enamored as hell with it.

Thank you?? The longest I've gone without eating anything I think was like... A week? Maybe two. So it's not much comparatively.
And honestly we're always thinking only about food. But it's just how to avoid it rather than how to consume it.
And thank you again?? I'd think it's anything but a superpower but thank you

I wouldn't call it joy... People see you get skinnier and skinnier and then they'll either not care enough to send you to hospital, or they actually care about you (or want to seem to anyways) and send you to hospital.

Something that could make it take less time if one was doing that is, as I said previous, restricting a lot then binging over two and a half liters of food and purging it. I've seen people die from this. I've also seen people die from restricting and restricting as much as they can then running after fasting for upwards of three days and then they die from cardiac arrest. But at that point, for them to die from running in that context, they'd have to be pretty malnourished beforehand.

A cousin tried this a few times. Each time, someone found her unconscious and brought her to a hospital.
So, you suffer for a few weeks starving yourself and then end up with an IV and psych hold.

Very low chance of success.

I'm 5 foot 5 and 100 pounds and fasted water only for 30 days on two different occasions.

I was nowhere near death and I'm tiny...but it was super unpleasant.

I wonder if a saltwater flush might speed up the process. I could see that it would, as it would certainly dehydrate you faster if you weren't drinking any other fluids.

I consider this method for when I have no support left. That said it's different from a normal suicide. This type of thing is more for Buddhist monks. People who do it are not shunning the pain that comes with starving to death. It is the only form of suicide that Schopenhauer considered morally acceptable.

You're talking about "VSED." A person can live s long time with no food, but not so long without water. It's not only hard, it's a matter of overriding instincts. Thirst is painful. I know you don't want to hear this, because it does seem doable. I hope you can find a less painful method. At least, Google VSED. It's somewhat common among old and sick, that's why they pass away so quickly. They also have assess to round the clock pain meds.

Your body would fight for a long long time and if anyone catches wind of what's going on you'll be taken away and fed through a tube.

This alone terrifies me. I always fantasize about starvation if I ever become a political prisoner (in the US, for my strong pro-suicide views...). But as you say, they'd just force feed you anyway. So very, very depressing. What an irony: you can't starve yourself to death in prison but you can starve to death due to poverty outside prison.

I've fasted for almost an month, and it didn't exactly kill me, so whatever. It was just very bad for my brain health though, damaging my memory like hell. I did manage to lose quite a few of weight, in the bright side.

But doesn't matter how thin you're, if you have been born to be a ugly ogre, you will dia a ugly, deformed ogre.

It's the emperor of maladies, according to some people. Although the Dry Fasting forum on curezone are fairly quiet these days. They've probably all killed themselves trying to get better.

I find it odd that Derek Humphry mentioned this

(Having just skimmed some of the book)

It doesn't seem painless at all

Having read a fair amount of Schopenhauer, I consider him a fool for thinking that

Although idk what painless methods he would have had--pistols? Cyanide?

More importantly, what painless methods might I ever actually have?
