Malnutrition I guess. Takes a long time from what I look up, weeks maybe a month or so.

Not the most pleasant either. The urge to eat is very overwhelming.

It will take a long time.. your SI will then persuade you to eat something.

I suspect the urge to vomit will be stronger than both the survival instincts and suicide urges combined , if a person is to have too much alcohol in the system.

DO you think that would make it go by faster?

You'd dehydrate within 3-4 days or so. With the Whisky it'll probably result in organ failure

Taking alcohol alone will not kill you unless in very rare cases you choke on your vomit.

People go to hospital because of severe intoxication and hospitals can clean out your stomach in some cases to save you. (I don't know the technical terminology for it.)

Suppose people take alcohol during ctb for "calming their nerves". That's what I'll probably do.

Other than that, an ineffective method to ctb.

This method seems long, painful and ineffective. I feel like your SI would definitely push you to eat something. You deserve a more peaceful method if you do want to CTB.

Starvation + alcohol will take a long time ... U may first faint due to dehydration / malnutrition and get taken to the hospital .... Alcohol will only speed up this process ... Ctb by this method seems a long shot ...

It'll only wreck your body . When suicidal that doesn't seem like a problem but it's adding pain on top of pain. Falling apart bit by bit. It's a slippery slope too, into eating disorder. I used to love food. Now I can barely eat at all. And I feel really stupid now in a world crisis that I let myself get like that

A young woman managed to do this method. She didn't drink whisky though. There is a news article somewhere about it. I can look for it if you're curious. I've read reports from medical professionals that starvation is actually an okay method for death but people always write conflicting opinions on it.

Starvation is definitely not an ideal method because it takes so long and so it leaves too many opportunities to back out. But it has advantages including; not requiring any resources, just sheer willpower, and not requiring any proactivity - it's purely passive, although you may find resisting the urge to eat is a real battle.

I managed to reach only day 3 before I felt completely dead and caved in to hunger. But I will be attempting it again. It's bizarrely the only option I feel comfortable with, I do not fancy the potential legal risks that other methods carry with them, and I'm too afraid to hang, drown, die by train, or jump.

furthermore, there have been plenty of people who in the past have succeeded in dying by hunger strike (Bobby Sands to name one), so while it's difficult, it's certainly not impossible.

An additional concern regarding this method is force feeding. I suspect some countries still enforce a law that starved individuals be subjected to involuntary parenteral nutrition. Fortunately, I believe force feeding humans via gavage has been abolished, although there may be some areas where this cruel, evil practice is still allowed. Gavage is painful, exquisite torture and people have died resisting it.

If someone knows the details of forcefeeding in the UK please let me know, because I can't seem to find out.

The hunger or thirst fades away around the third day is what people report so I'm kind of skeptical if it requires a strong will.

Dont do it it's horrible. It takes months, and people will intervene cause legally they have to force feed in most countries.

As someone trying to recover from the effects of unintentionally doing this, 0/10 do not recommend. It's possible but you'd be surprised how long the human body can hold out. There are better ways. Please consider your options.

Quite awhile and it wouldn't be pleasant.
My sister suffers from severe anorexia and went 3 months without eating, just drinking water. You can definitely go further than that but it would be excruciating

The two disadvantages you gave could actually be advantages as they would allow you to decide if you really wanted to ctb (they would give you a window to back out). If you take too long to reverse course though it may be that some damage, that you'd then have to live with, could be done.
