I was suicidal because I was anxious 24/7. I'm still often too anxious to even purchase groceries and spend much of my time laying in bed, but it's no longer so bad I'd rather be dead, at least for now. I will probably have to get a job sometime in the next year, so I don't know if I can manage that. I may talk to my doctor about anti-depressants to be more motivated. Are there anti-depressants that don't make you suicidal? I'm also going to ask if I can increase my dose of Buspirone.

There's really no one-size-fits-all answer to your anti-depressant question, unfortunately. Everyone reacts differently to every drug.

For my own personal experience, SSRIs took me from depressed to violently suicidal, every drug in that class that I tried. But the first SNRI I was put on was a success. But no one's going to have the exact same experience that I've had.

I will not take SSRI or SSNI because I like to use psychedellic drugs and they don't play well. There are antidepressants that aren't either, I think at least.
I have an SNRI prescription and don't take it for that reason.

Understandable.

I wanted to experiment with DXM recently, but upon researching it, found out there's a high risk of serotonin syndrome when combined with two meds that I'm on. Not a risk I'm willing to take, so I'm sticking to weed and booze.

Yeah... It kind of sucks, that's why I'm happy I can be honest with my doctor about my drug use and they can help me find a medication I will actually take, lol.

That's great! I've found that after starting Prozac, I'm less depressed, but the suicidal thoughts are worse somehow. It's strange. Lexapro helped with the anxiety, but I would still get madly depressed. I had much more luck with Wellbutrin, so I'm thinking of starting that again. It's an NDOI (i think I'm saying that right) it only works on dopamine receptors rather than serotonin, so I don't think it would have the reactions you would be concerned about (I may be wrong though). It's very hit-or-miss with antidepressants and everyone's brain chemistry is different. It's horrible how difficult it is to find a medication that works.

Yeah, suicidal issues are another reason to avoid SSRI/SNRIs, LOL.

Buspirone made me feel like I had to take a shit, constantly, increasingly, until a few days in, when one morning I woke up and couldn't make it to the bathroom in time and there was a big mess to clean up. Glad it worked for you, though. Some love it, some hate it. That is true for every med.

Bupropion makes me constipated, but worsens my OCD.

Benzos make me constipated, but relaxed.

Amphetamine makes me constipated, lessens my OCD, makes me happy, but eventually it wears off and you feel awful. Unless you take higher and higher doses. And that ended up giving me a heart attack and causing congestive heart failure.

Did you have worse anxiety during the first weeks of taking that stuff?
I read that's a scary side effect.

I don't remember, sorry. :/
I don't think so, but it couldn't really get much worse, I mean I was already on the edge of suicide, lol.

Yeah same. I don't need any more anxiety, it's quite impossible to feel worse. Heart races just thinking about going to the mailboxšŸ˜
